Just saw X-men: First Class! It was totally awesome! Yes there are a dozen continuity errors and it has very little to do with the comics, but it was still a great movie. I don't know if it was better then Thor, I would say there about equal.

Has any one noticed that in X-men: first class. That it isn't the first class. My proof is that the first team consisted of Cyclops, Angle, Beast, Iceman and Marvel girl. So just take that into consideration when you go and see it.

So just take that into consideration when you go and see it. I'm pretty sure people who know the comics are aware it isn't THE actual First Class. And I'm sure the general movie audience won't care. Besides, movie continuity is different from comic continuity. In the X-Men trilogy, Cyclops and Jean were teachers at the school, Beast was working in Washington, Iceman was still a student, and Angel didn't join until X3. The characters in this movie are the First Class of the movie universe.

I never thought about it like that but since you read certain interviews and read that the producer wants to make it just like the comic

Ive actually ended up seeing several movies so far (probably cause my niece is visiting us). Anyway, Ive actually seen Cars2, Green Lantern, Transformers, Thor, and now tonight X-men. Cant wait for Capt. Ill probably see Harry Potter this weekend w/ wife and niece. Ive been pleasantly surprised by all of them so far. Cars 2 was kindve weak but wasnt expecting much. Transformers couldve cut out a good half hour and would've been better. I think so far Thor has impressed me the most and maybe the "best" technically overall movie so far IMO. Xmen was better than I expected but dont think its quite as good as everyone else seems to think. I personally had the most fun and enjoyed Green Lantern the most.

[shadow=red,left,1000]So did anybody see Captain America yet?
Personally, I kind of liked it. I wouldn't say its better then Thor or even X-men:First Class, but it's still an great movie. I was a little disappointed with how they handled the Red Skull and while Hayley Atwell wasn't as bad as January Jones or Blake Lively her performance was a little weak.
Luckily Tommy Lee Jones, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci, Dominic Cooper and of course Chris Evans (who is perfect as Captain America) all make up for the movie's down sides.[/shadow]

Saw Captain America tonight. Loved it! Not let down at all. Better than expected. Probably my favorite movie of the summer. I think it might be my fave and the best Marvel movie to date (maybe only second to Iron Man 1).

I thought it was good too. Marvel Studios does it again. And next, the Avengers! Batlaw, you did stay through the credits right?

Some of the audience applauded after the Avengers teaser at my viewing. How about when you saw it?

Alright, I have now seen all the movies I planned to see this summer. Here's my summation of them all.
Marvel Studios delivers two more great films in Thor and Captain America and does a good job getting people revved up for the Avengers next year; here's hoping it breaks some records.
The Hangover 2 was definitely more hilarious than the first, but I do agree that it just seemed like a carbon copy with a few differences. I heard a third one is in the works but I really think they'd be pushing it if this kind of situation happens to these guys again.
Green Lantern was the movie I was looking forward to most this summer, but it just didn't live up to expectations. It was okay, but it could've improved on some areas; hopefully they learn their mistakes for the sequel (which I'm kinda surprised is happening after the poor critical and financial results). My hope though is that after Ryan's done with RIPD, he finally gets to work on Deadpool and then GL2.
I'm still on the fence on Transformers 3. I mean it's better than 3 in story (and I liked Carly more than Mikayla), but the first is still the best IMO. At least Bay's done with it.
It goes without saying that HP7.2 was epic.
Fox really surprised me this summer with both X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. As I said before, First Class breathed new life into a franchise alot of people gave up on. Now I just saw Rise today, and I have to say it's one of the best movies of they year. I highly recommend it. I hope both films get sequels.
