MY REVIEW:
Returned after fighting the Brotherhood, the Teen Titans see that the city has changed. But as thye fight a monster, Beast Boy seaches for the one person that has reappeared although she wasn't suppose to be: Terra.
The main character to be focused is Beast Boy. After seeing Terra back, he is the one who goes out of his way to try to get her back. Since Beast Boy is the heart of the group, like Flash is in the JL/JLU, its natural for his actions in this.
I don't what to call this episode: something that reminds me of the ending to X-Men: Evolution where we want more. Or a "THE END?" type of storyline.
This had a good mystery: Was Terra back or not? Slade telling Beast Boy that she didn't want to see him again, then the monster. I don't what to call this. If anything, we should've gotten another episode to help us.
I'am sad that its over. Teen Titans was great to see. Now that its over, I don't know what to do. Well it ain't actually over, Teen Titans: Tokyo is coming soon.
So what do I give this? This is going to be my first review with no rating.

I think they chose to go out with a whimper rather than a bang. They could've done so much more than this. My expectations were running high, and I am completely dissappointed. A series finale needs to have an ultimate resolution. This was completely absent. I shouldn't have questions after a series finale. I had thought it was good that Terra was back, but the way they did it was not good at all. They never figured out what that monster was, and they didn't defeat it. My review of the episode: 3/10.

Even though I didn't see the first 15 minutes of it, I was disappointed. "Titans Together" would've been a better finale. What was that robot thing anyway? How did they beat it? Was it really Terra? What happened to the real Slade? We'll never know these answers. What the hell is Teen Titans: Tokyo?

I liked it. I thought it was poignant.
I also didn't expect a big cosmic finale because it wasn't clear until after this was produced, I believe, that the series would be ending.
I liked that the story dealt with what made this series so good -- characterization and humor. And the theme of growing up and growing apart resonates as a coda.
Whether or not this was originally intended to be the series finale, I think it works.

Okay, it sounds sappy, but this episode almost made me cry (though that may have far more to do with the flu-fever I have and lack of sleep, and possibly the fact that this was the last episode of a series I'd grown to enjoy, than the story itself). I have to say, I was disappointed. I agree that 'Titans Together' would have made a better ending to the series -- very upbeat and positive. 'Things Change' was a bummer. Too much is left unresolved, and if it's true that the episode was produced before it was decided not to renew the series, than it might have worked fine as a sort of season cliffhanger. Maybe.
But as an ending to the series (potential DTV notwithstanding)? I don't think so. The series was about, among other things, the bonds of friendship between these young heroes. Here, Beast Boy (I agree that he's definitely the heart of the group) essentially abandons his friends to pursue Terra -- which isn't out of character for him, considering his strong feelings for her. But it does somewhat negate the team-bond theme, especially since they really need him in their fight against that elemental robot creature.
The fight with Slade ('s robot) almost seemed out of place -- Slade was really Robin's obsession, though I can definitely see that his connection to Terra would make it logical for BB to be fighting him. But again, as a series-finale, it would have been better for Robin to have the last fight with Slade, while BB concentrates on Terra.
Finally, the story is left unresolved. Terra (if she really was Terra) doesn't join Beast Boy in the fight with the other Titans. She doesn't even acknowledge that she ever had any feelings for BB at all. "Things change," she says, and that's certainly true (especially in the teenage years, when alliances and crushes shift faster than fashion trends), and though that is certainly fitting with the title and theme of this episode, it's at odds with the theme of the series as a whole. As I said, one of the major themes of the series, as I see it, is the bonds of friendship. They've already dealt with the 'growing apart' theme in the episode where Starfire travels to the future (and we see Nightwing's one and only appearance), and while I suppose we, the audience, were supposed to be reminded of that episode, it still doesn't mesh. After all, that episode ended with the Titans vowing not to let themselves drift apart. To me, a better ending to 'Things Change' would have been Terra joining Beast Boy and the rest of the Titans, defeating the creature, and having pizza. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or perhaps, some things change, but not the most important things (that is, true friendship).
I dunno. Maybe I'm just bitter about the series ending. Maybe I want a faerie tale 'and they all lived sappily ever after' ending. When BB first recognizes Terra in the crowd, I had high hopes for such an ending. Unfortunately, defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory, and I was left feeling sad and cold. Though again, part of that can be attributed to the flu.

Well, I just saw it and i must say, I really didn't mind it. It dealt with characters and doubt and emotion and things like that. Yes, the end was a little open ended, but sometimes I like that kind of ending (sort of like the end of the movie Castaway). At the end of the episode I think the point was that in life we all have doubts, hardships and unanswered questions, but we have to press on, do our job, and maybe someday we'll find those answers. It wasn't a perfect ending, but life's not that way either. Or maybe I'm just reading things into it all

Ugh. I can be particularly hard on scripts, because if the script is broken, nothing else can fix it. For me, this was a perfect example. Why was this even made? Why didn't we get an extra mid-season episode involving another honorary Titan, and skip this lousy false-ending? Leading the viewer along with a strung out story and then leaving the audience hanging is not hip and trendy, it is poor writing.
Titans really grew on me, and it's become one of my favorites. I'll think I'll just forget this last episode ever happened.

I was always thinking Teen TItans Tokyo was a special episode that just never seemed to air, like the episode with Punk Rocket. So Terra returned? From all of these reviews I guess its only worth watching if you just want to finish off the series?

Ahh viewing the pictures from a different site they are still keeping up with the Japanese anime stuff -_- In 'The End' what exactly happened to Slade? Did he form a truce with the TItans or just leave? I read the summary of this last episode and it seems to leave many questions unanswered which the crew probably just did to try to make it look like a good ending. I dont think I would really care if this final episode comes on air, Terra didn't really mean much to me. I loved Aftershock and all but she was still just there to tie in with Beast Boy. So yeah, if theres anyone out there who knows the asnwer to my question, please post I really need to get cable again....

It left so many unanswered questions.

Yes I've seen Teen Titans:Tokyo under the movies in worldsfinestonline. It's been there for a pretty long time actually.
I didn't catch the episode, but from what I know it left a lot of questions unanswered. Why did they make Terra lose her memory? It was...so sad. I wish she could have kept her powers. I would like to be able to control the earth and stuff ;D
