Begins, hands down. Most accurate, darkest and most understandable Batman ever to grace the big screen.

Batman Begins is definately the best movie out of all of them. They explored the Alfred-Bruce Relationship as well as the begining of the Gordon-Batman Relationship. And this movie showed us something that non of the other Batman movies have showed us and that is inside Wayne Enterprises and what goes on inside![/size]

No offense...but this poll is useless. It is obvious that Batman Begins is the best depiction of the Dark Knight ever. This is not even a question. ;D

Yeah it is a little pointless, I bet there will be a few people to vote for the others but I went for Batman Begins. I am one of the people who doesn't care if the filmmaker's take creative license with the source. (Joker killing the Waynes still doesn't bother me). So I just looked at them as which is the most enjoyable movie. What set Batman Begins apart was that they made Bruce an actual character. Michael Keaton came off as a weird recluse, Val Kilmer came off as a maskless Batman, and George Clooney actually was a good Bruce but he played Batman the same way. Christian Bale managed to play a character but also accomplished the two facades of Bruce Wayne and Batman. The scenes that really stood out for me though were with the kid in the narrows. He was completely affected by the fear toxin and then he saw Batman and wasn't afraid at all. That's my vision of Batman. Someone that the good people will get behind no matter what. My only real complaints with Batman Begins are that I think the fight scenes could have been shot better, and I really wish that Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard made the heroic theme more noticable.

Batman Begins is so brilliant, this thread isn't point-less because we can praise the film even more!

Batman Begins is so brilliant, this thread isn't point-less because we can praise the film even more! DAMN RIGHT! When I put this post up, I knew no one was gonna vote for BF or BAR. But I didn't think everyone was gonna vote for Begins. IT ROCKED! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE! ;D

I don't even consider those other movies Batman movies anymore. Batman Begins all the way. The first two get "some" credit, but Forever and B & R was pure (explective).

no one is gonna vote for another movie unless they haven't see Begins. the best. he was darker too, with voice and interigation tecniques. Batman from the first movie did inadvertantly kill the Joker though.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but watching Returns over the weekend sparked a discussion with my wife.
We saw Begins (natch!) and enjoyed it.
However, while watching Returns she said "Begins was too realistic. Batman is a comic character. He should be more like the comics."
As I've had a couple of days to reflect on her comment, I'm starting to agree. Begins was an excellent movie and it will go a long way toward breathing new life into the franchise BUT it didn't seem like it was as much fun as Batman or Returns were. Maybe that's because I knew what was going on before it happened - but maybe, just maybe, it was because it was too real. Much of what we saw is actually possible (as far as Batman himself goes).
Agree? Disagree?

I found myself missing the Dark Deco Gotham City, which is what I loved the most about Burton's films (except for the Zoo, I didn't care for that). If the plot had been mixed with the same atmospheric background as Tim's movies, "Begins" would probably be my favorite comic book film of all time, hands down (I'm still debating between "Begins" and "X2").[/shadow]

That really depends upon the context of "comics"...Joel Schumacher thought that "comics" meant the ridiculous 60's books and television series...It's all relative...
Batman and Batman Returns were fun movies to watch, but, IMO, they're too over-the-top when they shouldn't be...Like the parade sequence at the end of Batman, or, the death of the Penguin in Returns...
I loved the visual trickery of new techniques like filming a location in downtown L.A. and then placing a matte painting on top of the footage...It really added to Burton's dark vision of a Gothic Gotham...But, IMO, I appreciated/ enjoyed Begins' Gotham more because it was the amalgam of Chicago/ Tokyo/ New Jersey that I've always envisioned, and is the type of city that you'd see in the post-earthquake monthly comics...
That's how I look at the films...Through a disaster that happened in the comics...If you liked Batman before the quake, then the Gotham of Burton's is for you. If you liked Batman after he went through the quake and subsequent aftermath, I'd go with Nolan's Gotham.
I would have to say that I enjoyed the more realistic Batman from Begins, because it was able to ground the character in the real world, no easy task for a comic book movie where the audience knows that the character doesn't exist...
