You know if I was a big studio executive or even Christopher Nolan I would be totally p*ssed off at Katie Holmes for not promoting the Batman Begins film correctly. I was watching Letterman the other night and she spent more time talking about Tom Cruise and his new movie war of the worlds. Plus I have seen her on numerous tv programs basically doing the same thing. What is wrong with her? She should act like the professional that I thought she was and promote the movie. She could be writing herself out of a sequel (which I would do for the way she is not promoting Batman Begins)
Am I the only one that is finding this really annoying? She has been given a great oppurtunity to be part of a very HUGE & POPULAR franchise, and she is treating it with what I feel is a lack of respect for everybody involved. She is in the media because of Tom Cruise, I will give her that, just mention it briefly without promoting his damn movie and promote BATMAN BEGINS!
Just to add to this, when she was on Letterman the other night Dave asked her how Christian Bale does as Batman and she was just like he does a good job, and that was it, she wasn't excited about it or anything!

[shadow=purple,left,300]Personally, I don't think this will have much of an impact on the film's box office. Plus, I don't think the studio can base hiring someone on how they promoted a movie, or if they didn't. I have a feeling she'll return, regardless, whether it's for one film or more.
HOWEVER, let it be known that I am disappointed with how she's managed to constantly shift the focus from "Begins" to Cruise in every interview (including the comingsoon.net interview in the Updates 6 thread). Honestly, I'm sickened by the whole relationship and can't believe it's become the number 1 headline everywhere I turn my head. I'm glad she's in love, but I have a feeling that this is going to be just like that summer when Ben and Jen dominated the headlines.[/shadow]

I don't think it will effect Box Office either, and just like you I am total sick & tired of hearing about Tom & Katie...Katie & Tom, enough is enough!
And I think you said it best about Disappointment, and the more I think about it, it is very disappointing.

Holmes is getting on my nerves. Everywhere I turn all I see is Holmes and Cruise. Hopefully it won't last long. Come on, they are a Hollywood couple after all.

oh i agree..after seeing tom cruise jumping like an idiot for his love for miss Holmes, it made me sick in the stomach. ANd when Holmes was giving a life achievement award to Cruise..she was acting so giddy and that made me barf.

You know what guys I was just going to post a thread on this katie holmes crap. I for one are not watching entertainment tonight ever again. The day they covered the begins premiere all they talked about is cruise and holmes. I am getting totally sick of it myself and also feel the media attention should be on Bale and not her. Hell she's certainley not as talented as any of the other actors in begins and she is getting all the attention. I hope you guys are right that this doesn't effect the box office returns for this great movie that is going to blow us all the way. My opinion, this whole cruise and holmes thing is a big stunt. I would not have her back for any sequals if she's going to keep behaving like this and not giving this movie and the talented actors in this movie the proper press they deserve.

I doubt its a stunt, but for some reason its getting a whole lotta hype. This won't have effect on box offices, but as others said, it's very disapointing and very disrespectful from fans points of views. I wasn't too sick of it until I saw the MTV movie awards and Holmes presented the achievment award to Cruise, for some reason I just got so tired of it at that time.

I don't think it will have any impact on the box office either.
I was watching the Letterman interview and she seemed insane, although that morning on Good Morning America she was actually pretty decent.
I don't have a problem with her and wish her and Tom the best.
It's also quite possible that she wouldn't be invited for as many of these high profile interviews if it weren't for the relationship.

My two cents...I find the whole 'TomKat' thing a bit over the top...but when isn't the media? Gee...two beautiful stars with big blockbuster movies dating? What a coincidence.
Overall, I'm very disappointed that Katie has such a blatant unprofessionalism and disregard for the fans and the franchise. She's definately not on my good list.....not that I think she cares, lol

I guess we're lucky here in OZ,we haven't had any interviews with her here at all.Although we have all been made quite aware of the relationship. Don't worry guys, have you all noticed how many"love interests"make it to the sequels?

Ive seen a few interviews where she has constantly changed the subject and its very irritating for sure. but lads they probably have to coach her for hours to get her to remember one subject and since she is going with Tom its probably easier this way,she would probably collapse if they asked here a serious question about Batman

[shadow=red,left,300]Seems like some studio execs are thinking like us.
Courtesy of IMDB:
Producers of Tom Cruise's latest movie War Of The Worlds are anxious his new romance with actress Katie Holmes has sparked such a media frenzy, it's damaging the film. Polls in magazines People and Us Weekly show a majority of both publications' readers are skeptical about the sincerity of the Hollywood couple's relationship, because both Cruise and Holmes have films released this month - Cruise stars in War Of The Worlds, while Holmes is in Batman Begins. But Martin Levy, an executive at DreamWorks, the studio behind the film, fears the actor's romantic outbursts are stealing headlines away from the Steven Spielberg-directed movie. He says, "You can have so much attention on a particular issue that maybe the movie doesn't get as much attention as it might. It's the topic of conversation for other reasons." [/shadow]

[shadow=purple,left,300]Hopefully, "War of the Worlds" will see more of a box office backfire than "Batman Begins."
Meanwhile, This story has officially touched my gag reflexes. [/shadow]

Ya know...normally I could care less what celebrity does what to who,but something about these two just skeeves me out big-time.Both of their attitudes seem so phoney and over the top and everything they say sounds so pre-planned and idiotic. The sooner these two leave the public spotlight, the better

You know I respect Katie's love interest in Tom Cruise. She might goes on to talk shows and talks about Tom, but at least she's also mentioning Batman Begins and I'm okay with that. However, I thought she kinda crossed the line when she go on Dave Letterman and said "I just saw War of the World and it was so great...he's so talented." She didn't mention how great Batman Begins is and that pissed me off. This suppose to be Bale's big chance of becoming a Hollywood's big star, but Tom Cruise's the one who's getting all the spot light.
If you watched VH1's show "Best Week Ever", they talked about the BB premiere and they pointed out what is obvious. "Tom Cruise is getting all the spotlight and Christian Bale right away lose about 90 pounds and slips into the corner. The BB poster that was signed by Tom Cruise is getting more bids on ebay." That was the joke from the show....Brutal

Just thought i'd let you know i saw a Katie Holmes interview here in OZ last night. It was on the most popular highest rating Variety show here and the presenter is a self-confessed Toy Geek and Superhero nut. Anyways he kept her on track talking about Begins and even had her explain the Rachel character as she doesn't appear in the Comics. No romance talk or War of the Worlds was entered into the discussion. He handled her really well and kept her on track,it was good to see.

the MTV movie awards bit was very sickly, especially when Tom got so full of himself during his speech.
i saw an interview on the yahoo movies website, and katie was asked something like "which is more exciting, riding beside Batman in the Batmobile, or riding on the back of Toms motorbike?" she replied "Toms motorbike".
she could have just played along and said the Batman answer, seeing as thats what the interview was supposed to be about.
I've not seen the film yet, but i've been sceptical about her from the moment i heard she was suposed to be Wayne's love interest. in my opinion, she just doesn't 'fit'. I don't think she looks old enough for a start. bruce is in his late 20's/early 30's, so she should look that age too, but she looks about 19.
In a review i read today, the journalist says of her performance in the film, "Holmes is more interesting in her real-life role as Tom Cruise's lover".

she replied "no, Tom Cruise is the ultimate guy".

possible good news, on BOF i read today that Holmes might not be signed up for any sequels, because the studio are not happy with her (lack of) promotion for the film she is in, instead promoting Toms new film at every opportunity.

It's sad to see an actor get a nice fat paycheck for a movie and then see her act the way she did on Letterman.I also saw Cruise on Leno and he was worse.I don't think either one will hurt Batman Begins and I KNOW the two of them aren't enough to help War of the Worlds. From the trailers I've seen it just looks like a lot of stuff blowing up and falling down. ...... and I'm glad WB dumped Katie for the sequals! P.S.:"didn't she get the memo?"
