I've heard some great names, I like Matthew Lillard, Sean Penn, Crispin Glover, or Christian Slater, but not Mark Hamill

I agree about NO Nicholson..but keep in mind that Glover IS an actor. Just because he plays reserved roles, doesn't mean he's not capable of pulling off joker. I don't think when we saw Star Wars we thought to ourselves "hmmm that luke skywalker would voice a good joker someday!"...but low and behold.....hence the nature of acting. That may be true, but I am more comfortable with knowing that an actor can pull off the role than hoping that he's got the chops to pull it off. For example, my top three choices are Adrian Brody, Tim Roth, and Russell Crowe. This is based off Brody's performance as a psycho in Oxygen (for which I've seen the trailer of, but I have yet to find the film. Still he shows enough menace in the trailer and more hyper craziness in The Village that I was convinced). Roth is my second choice based off his brilliant performance in Pulp Fiction. He's very intense, yet very funny when he's robbing the coffee shop at the end. In Planet of the Apes, he is extremely hyper and villainous. Russell Crowe is VERY leftfield, but his performance in Virtuosity is brilliant and the most Joker-like character that I've seen on film that isn't actually The Joker. Hyper, unpredictable, psychotic, homicidal, and just plain evil. Check out my post in "Joker Has been cast already?" thread to read more in detail about how I think this could work based on his Virtuosity performance. Sorry for being a party pooper. I realize that Crispin Glover is a very popular choice, but I haven't been convinced that he could do it from what I've seen of him. As you can see from my top three choices, I am convinced that they could do the role justice based on the fact that they all have shown the qualities that I'd expect from Joker in their previous roles. From what I've seen of Willard and Charlie's Angels...Glover would've been a cool Scarecrow (and was my #1 choice before Batman Begins went into production), but I'm not convinced at all about Joker.

Wow i hero you for that! I'm the same way tho. I'm one of the few that will be alright with glover but i'm hoping for someone who has shown that they can pull it off. Also didn't i once read WB saying they have a select group of actors in mind and i'm pretty sure they turned Glover down. Anyways about Hamill. I like his voice but he's too old. I'm not fond of the idea of dubbing his voice over the actors either. But i've said it once and i'll say it again. I trust nolan and co. in there choice.
