Couldnt they have another female character say...Harly? There never seems to be a villain with a love interest in most movies (if indeed the next villain is Joker)

I thought she was ok in Begins, its just all the interviews that made me sick of her (which i posted about in the other thread).
i think i saw some footage of the London premiere, where Cruise showed up out of the blue, and was walking down the carpet acting like it was HIS movie premiere. fair enough, he's a big star so he's gonna have lots of fans and wave at them, but he could have acted a little more humble and given the Begins actors the limelight.
in Jetts review (I think) he mentioned Holmes as the blatant 'forced Hollywood casting', and I also agree with Donster about playing her up to the female audience.
they could have got an unknown actress for the Dawes character.
I didn't like the way she looked exactly the same when she is 22 and 29, whereas Bale looks different in both portions of the movie.

Maybe we'll see Selina Kyle, which would be nice since she plays such a big part in the whole Year One-Long Halloween era.

She did not have as much of a negative impact on the film as I had anticipated, nor did I end up disliking her, her character or performance as I expected too. However; I still dont think she (her character) Nec. should have been introduced or included in the film to begin with, nor do I think she was "right" for the role. Despite serving adequately as Bruce's "conscience" Etc. She was just as much a studio construct. IMHO, Bruce's "moral anchor" is, should be, and should have been supplied by Alfred. All that being said, as much as I may have liked or disliked her, one thing I deffinately hate is the "disposable" character. Which in most cases is the supposed "love interest" and the like. It's insulting and short-changes the ultimate story. One word... CONTINUITY! I despise sequals wherein everything that has gone before is just so much smoke. At least in Returns, we had one or two lines of dialog regarding Vale's absence. For better or worse, I would prefer she return in some capacity (however minor) rather than simply pretend she / it never happened.

basically what I disliked was the fact that I knew she would find out his identity-cant WB do a bat movie without someone finding out his identity?

yeah thats a good point.
i didn't like the way he had no hesitation to reveal who he was. in the other movies, he came across as a stuttering fool when trying to tell the woman that he was batman, so i guess they didn't want that again, so allowed hm to reveal it quickly and with no nonsense.
would have been nice if he'd come up with a witty line and not revealed who he really was.
in the story, if anyone ever finds out that Rachel knows who Batman really is, then surely she is in more danger? and surely Bruce would not want that so it would be better if she didn't know the truth.

[/shadow] I think the Scientology boffins may have replaced her with a clone that is controlled by the Cruiser seriously though she has been on autopilot for months now
