The Batmobile in the first movie was always my fav. But after seeing Begins, the first batmobile looks so 'stiff' driving around the streets of Gotham. The Tumbler owned the streets in Begins.

I always thougth that the Batmobile should always be prtrayed as it si clled" the most powerful vehicle ever created" but it never has been until now with Begins. The tumbler is a great jumping off point for Bats to begin with, in that he can change it around according to the mission at hand.It is powerful enough that the GCPD can't lay a hand on it even when it is sitting still.

I'm going for the aesthetic side of Batmobiles rather than which is tougher. I was torn right between Keaton's Batmobile and his Batskiboat. I think that Batman's vehicles need to look sleek. I would imagine in Batman Begins' sequel that the tumbler will keep the same shape as it had in Batman Begins but be a little sleeker. Still be a tank though.

Of the listed choices above, I go with 89/Keaton version.
Although I have liked virtually every Batmobile thus far to verying degrees, my "favorite" incarnation I think would be The New Batman Adventures animated version? Followed closely by The Batman animated standard and Batwave versions. My least fave would be the new Mattel version.

I gave my vote to the 89 version of The BATMOBILE. The design of it and the sleekness of it is amazing. It's great and works on screen. A close second is the 1966 batmobile, there is just something about it that I love. And then in third is The Batman Begins Tumbler.
The one in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were flat out silly ! ! !

I know I'm in the serious minority (and will likely get slammed for this) but I gotta be the last person on earth that cannot see what the facination is, and whats sooo unbelievably AWESOME and INCREDIBLE about the Tumbler? ? What does or did it Really do? Seriously. I'm not bashing it, and I like many aspects of it / it's design Etc. (and I certainly grew to like it more the more I learned and saw since the initial pics) but C'mon? Did it honestly do anything that spectacular? "never before seen"? or impressive? Not to mention how overall impractical it / it's mechanisms really are? Am I really the only one that was less than impressed with the fact it could simply drive through or over something and "jump"? I just dont get all the praise.

All of the Bat vehicles have a certain appeal to them, whether cool, campy or crappy. There is often a difference between our impression of the vehicle on film, and the impression created by its' version as a toy. The BR Batmissile Batmobile is probably my favorite over both categories; the Kenner toy version is an awesome mother, and represents the film's sleek, powerful and deadly impression well. The Mattel Tumbler is right up at the top of my list, too - the sound, lights, the figure-accessible cockpit, and just the way the thing rolls rank it way up there. I am also especially fascinated by the Batjets in the films and various animated series, probably because they evoke the symbol; the simple, iconic image of a bat that immediately conjures in our minds the world of Batman. The Batjet in B89 came closest visually to the image, but the vehicle doesn't do much in the film other than get shot down. The Batwing from BF had a scaled, almost reptilian style, with its sharp wingpoints and spiny fins, but again does very little in the film. It's a cool toy, too - looks very impressive next to the also cool BF Batmobile. It will be interesting to see Nolan's version of the Batwing/jet/plane - which I hope happens - especially if it involves a battle with an airborne enemy of equal firepower.

Let's make sure we all keep it friendly guys.I know you two are being open and out there but remember no two people have exactly the same opinion on things. So just remember to respect each others differences and keep it constructive. Now that that's out of the way.
As for my own opinion i find it hard-pressing to decide between the old and new i.e:the Tumbler vs The'66 TV Batmobile. The 66 to me just exudes coolness[if that's a word]and was as far-fetched as the newest Batmobile is today.Whereas the Tumbler to me is a machine that suits a new crusade in a War of one man verses a City.A machine designed for battle. But let's face it,i love them all!

[shadow=red,left,300]Like FB, I too am a fan of all of the vehicles (With the exception of the ones from Batman & Robin..there is just something about them that doesn't click with me). If I had to pick a favorite though, I would have to go with the Batmobile from the first two films. Come on, back in 89' who of us wasn't blown away when we first saw it? ;D[/shadow]

The Best by far is the Batmobile from Batman & Batman Returns. It is amazing. The Tumbler from Begins was great but where were the huge flames coming out of the back, & the fins?

I have to say from a looks points of view I would choose the Forever Batmobile, I absolutely love the design to this day. the 'ribbed' body through which you can see its internal organs, the crazy large fin at the back that can open and close (flap like wings), the lighted up rims in which the bat symbol always stays level. I love it.
I have the kenner one on display, and have a couple of kits I haven't got round to making yet.
Even the boat and plane looked nice, and all 3 Forever vehicles had similar styling. they are my favourite set of Bat vehicles.
All the B & R vehicles looked rubbish.
I kind of like the '89/'92 Batmobile, but even though it has a wacky design, it sort of looks too 'plain' for me.
The Tumbler is ok, but not amazing.

[/shadow] i so agree the original was awesome but sadly the tumbler is more manueverable, faster, it jumps and can turn on a dime unlike the original batmobile that needed to proped up on a jack then turned tumbler is more practicalNo originals are betterthe tumbler [glow=red,2,300] im the son of rage and love.... the jesus of suburbia[/glow]

I loved the '89 Batmobile, which, for me at least exuded power; on the other hand, 'Begins' Tumbler was the closest fans could get to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns "bat-tank"...So, I'd go with the Tumbler...

Also, here's a quick question...Why did Schumacher use the Batskiboat again for Batman & Robin? I haven't been able to figure out most of his other choices, but, this one's been bugging me for some time now...Any thoughts?

Ok, I understand now...Though, Schumacher somehow, using his amazing cinematic abilities , found a way to make his bat-speedboat stink more than the trash in my garbage bin...
