hi guys ... i have a little question for customizers who magically get lost in this thread ... how do you break apart a zipline? i've popped off the head and am wondering on how to go about pulling off the torso from the legs ...
i'd really want to try my hand at customizing, but i don't want my first custom to be a total disaster, so a little help would really be nice ... thanks!

Nope, trial by fire! my first was a disaster and its only fair you suffer along with the rest of us!! JK Honestly, I have no real idea? for figures I've personally never really fully disassembled in order to customize. Unless unscrewing G.I. Joes and smashing open Star Wars figs count? I would have to guess maybe cutting along the seam? (if there is one). You could always go drastic and cut off the appendages and re-atach them (sacrificing mobility obviously) or your best bet would be to completely ignore me! ;D

Although pulling apart figures is fun i have yet to remove more than the head, hands and belt on a Zipline or indeed any mattel Batman. Although i think PJ has so hopefully he will have the answer for you.I'd hate for you to trash the figure.

There is no easy way to pull apart the batmen.. specifically the torso part.. there is a glued anchor beam from the back torso and front torso so kiss the boil and pop method goodbye. (Also prolong immersion in boiling water will cause the torso to discolor) There are two ways I did it: 1) used an X-acto knife and run it across the lines in the side of the torso (hoping that you only create a minimal gap in the original, so that it can easily be filled in). then you break the glued anchor beam. This will cause your figure to not be as sturdy as before when you put it back. but hey I don't think you want to play with it either after customizing ;D 2) using the dremel: from the back about half a centimeter above the waist, use the dremel cutter to cut it from one left side gap to the right side gap. this you will be able to remove the torso then.. when you're ready to put this back just fill it in with putty.. Hope this helps.. if you want I can post a pic of the inside torso of the 6in batman for reference. /0043H

I've just removed...heads, capes, gloves, lower legs & belts. PJ

i just took the torso apart, i boiled the torso MANY times, and eventually all the glue just disolved away and the torso just fell apart with ease, my plan is when the super articulated zipline batman comes out im gonna use the arms and the legs from it and throw away the split torso. the boiling of the torso didnt ruin the plastic or dull the paint so you should be good to go. i didnt have to make any cuts or use an exacto knife, my tools were hot water and my hands.
