hey guys some of you know me in the action-figure section of this board. well today you are going to see my artistic side, i have been for a long time and last month i started my first custom figure (after looking as ironcow's site ;D). the figure is called New Batman a character i made named after my favorite hero Batman, whats speacial about this batman is it's not Bruce or Terry; its another person. so if want to see my work just go to the ironcow message board and go to "New Batman is coming..." and check it out. as i continue my work i will post updates on both this site and ironcow's site. so if you want to commment on this feel free to post them here and enjoy. here's the artwork i did of my batman: so again share your thoughts with me and hope you like the finish project when it's done. ;D

Hey NB, I really like this design, good job. It probably would be easier to put on and move in, plus it has a cool urban/pulp feel to it. I also saw your plush version, very cool.
Maybe in the future we could see New Robin and New Joker...

ok, Here you go some "in-progress" pics, take a look.. so as you can see i fix the arms and torso to be able to "inter-change", if you notice i masked the tips of the arms and waist because i sand it too much and they became to loose. the pants is painted but, i have to re-paint it later since i remeber i have to prime first then paint. all in all im making good progress on this for a months work . what do you think? the reworking of the body and everything else i will start later and ill order the magi-sculpt FRI or SAT so for now enjoy these and stay tune ...

hey guys, i need help from a custom pro, i got my magic-smooth in the mail and i need to know how do i use it? it said it's simular to maigc-sculpt only different, when i open them, they look "jelly" like, like gel or glue. so how do i mix these parts? any help would be great.

Sounds like it's a traditional "two part" compound? In which case, the standard would be to use a disposable container of some sort, and use a popcicle stick or similar disposable object to thoroughly mix then apply? It may or may not be "equal portions" though so check your instructions! Often the "hardening agent / portion" is which you use the least amount. I havnt used this product so I cant say... best recomendation is carefully read and follow instructions. Or contact the manufacturer for details if unclear (never fun to waste such stuff or ruin your project).

Magic-smooth? I've never heard of that. Is it meant for sculpting, or more for filling in small cracks and holes? If it's jelly-like, I can't see how it would be for sculpting.
Here's the description from the manufacturer:
"This two-part epoxy is similar in use to Magic-Sculp but it has a thinner consistency (similar to Vaseline). Easily smoothed with water to a glassy finish, Magic-Smooth is used often for taxidermy projects but it is also great for sculpting. Magic-Smooth does not dissolve foams making it an ideal foam coat! Also it can be used to give texture to almost any surface and Magic-Smooth makes a great adhesive for many projects. Simply mix equal parts of both the A and B component, and the material will harden overnight. It will permanently adhere to almost any clean surface. Once dry, Magic-Smooth will accept most any type of paint and will not shrink or crack."
Sounds to me like it's best used as a filler. Regardless, the instructions for use should be on the containers.
If you ever try some, Magic Sculpt is good stuff for sculpting.
C.

ok, here the latest set of progress pics. as you can see i have already primed my figures and ready for the white base coat. Batman body (batsuit) Luis body (dress shirt) Batman/Luis legs (main legs) Batman arms/hands (batsuit/gloves) Batman/Luis heads in progress (still working on them) when the parts are dry from the white coat, i will begin the painting of the bodies and arms. the arms for the luis body are cut apart and waiting for the liquid rubber that i ordered to make cast molds of the figures for future custom making. again im continuing to work on the heads, which will take a whlie to finish. in the mean time i hope you like these set of pics and i will post pics again of the finish bodies and arms soon. stay tune...

Hey guys i need some help again on my project, as you can see my figure's paint looks good, but it's not that good. i seem have some problems with the paint on the leg joints, everytime i lift one leg to make an action pose the ball of the joint always scratch the paint off and i always end up repainting that part again. so what do you think i should do?

[glow=red,2,300] I'm sure there is somesort of liquid you can cover it in which stops it scratching off! I just cant remeber what it is! [/glow]

I once read where someone would coat their painted joints with CA (Crazy) glue, that it would seal the paint. Two words - BE CAREFULL!!
