I am floored that no one has responded to this thread. This is the figure, IMO, that collectors have been clamoring for since DC Direct took on the Batman franchise. I also thought that tons of people here would be all over this. Anyway, this figure actually looks really cool to me. I see a strong resemblance to Neal Adams' Batman, too. I think I'll get this one.

I responded on other sites, but I really like the Batman a lot. He'll be replacing my SA Batman & Robin Batman on my shelf. I'll also be buing a second one and paint the cowl & trunks blue. PJ

I may pick it up but that blackened face irritates me as well. Does anyone know if it will come with any accessories besides the base?

He's alright. I'm not usually happy with the quality of DC Direct merchandise, and with Mattel given free range of which styles of Batman they can have the Four Horsemen do...well, I'm going to hold out and hope that we get something along that route!

I agree Matt that DC Direct's quality can be spotty. Mattel has already made a Silver/Bronze Age Batman, the 2003 SDCC figure. Unfortunately they were not available on a wider, less costly basis. You would know better than anyone else, what are the chances Mattel will make another?

Id say pretty high.making canon Batman figs in each wave will be difficult so they will milk the popular wells so to speak and as long as DCD keeps their beaks out..we should get another more POA friendly silver age/80s Bats that will leave anything DCD has done previously in the dust

???I can't wait for that figure to be available. I was a big fan of the Silver Age Batman.

I like seeing classic looks of heroes rendered in action figures, so this is a welcome toy in my mind.
