This post is for all of the LoG members who have a compulsive desire to tell riddles and or solve them. PLEASE do not turn this post into a discussion or it will be loaded with posts and be deleted.
Ultimate Riddler and I will have a string of riddles for you as well as the others who wish to play. Although I am his partner, we share different riddling abilties. Therefore we have a different riddling style. So, may the games begin!
Here is the first riddle (they get harder) [/shadow]
I was carried into a dark room, and set on fire. I wept, and then my head was cut off. What am I?

[glow=green,2,300]Okay well I wanna solve this one, the answer is glass.
P.S. I apologize if I insulted anyones intellegence. By the way partner, I happen to be a pretty big Mr. Freeze, Joker, Two-Face and Scarecrow fan, but Riddler is still my favorite. I love the deep connection between Two-Face and Bats, plus I love the scare-gas that the scarecrow produces and its effects, and I am touched by the story behind Mr. Freeze's criminal antics. (Which is part of the reason I hate the new Mr. Freeze.)[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300][shadow=green,left,300]There is a hidden word in this Riddle:
At the beginning, you must seek. Seek to find the answer to my trick. My location is hidden from your view And the answer to the riddle is too. Near and far you can search In and on and at an island you must look And yet you can't find me in the book.[/shadow][/glow]
Where am I?
P.S. This riddle is not supposed to make sense, just follow the clues. The answer is a location in the world. If you all get desperate then I'll give away the name of the continent the place is located.

[glow=green,2,300]I think the answer would be Treble Cleft G sharp... because its above the bass cleft and its a sharp note. And the treble cleft (also known as the G cleft) is a higher class then the bass cleft (also known as the F cleft)[/glow]

Here is the complete clue:
It is metal, long, yet thin. Through it, you can tell how someone's been. It brings sweat and tears and everything inbetween. It has been seen for many olde years, so you better be keen.
It seems I am of a higher class. It is a lovely tool in bass. You'll have to be a sharp thinker, To get to the fine.
Good Luck!

Oh I thought you were giving us a different Riddle... And don't you dare insult my intellegence. ANYWAY... Hmm. I'm going to guess... fishing rod? Or shovel. "Lovely tool in bass"... lovely tool below? Then again bass could also mean the fish... Fine... fine... hmm... I don't give up but right now... I must take off I'll solve it later... my partner and I will confer on it.

[shadow=green,left,300]Its some kind of wind instrument?
P.S. I will try harder DN if my IQ is at stake, plus I've only been stumped twice, I refuse to be stumped again. (If my ever-clever partner solves it that doesnt count ;D)[/shadow]

I was going to say something simple like pencil because it was the first word that came to my mind and I don't know why

Since you said a wind instrument was an "interesting thought", does that mean its not that either? mmm partner, it cant be saxophone because it is not "long, yet thin". ITS AN AEROPHONE!!! Anyway if you had not given me the second half of the puzzle I probably would have continued to refer to bladed weapons... Spears, swords, knives, axes... Because you must admit that the first half of the riddle makes it sound like the answer is some sort of weapon.

[shadow=green,left,300]HARMONICA!!! ITS A FLIPPIN HARMONICA!!! LONG YET THIN, SWEAT (cuz its hard to play) AND TEARS (as in rips) THROUGH EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN!!! (all of the blowholes or w/e they are called in a harmonica)[/shadow]
|
|
|
Post by Dark Nightwing on Jan 10, 2006 19:08:35 GMT -5
Sometimes you overthink things. It is a wind instrument and it is not a saxophone. I wouldn't consider a Harmonica to be long, even though comparitively with it's length, it is. It isn't a Harmonica, even though it does seem to fit well. That "everything in between" referred to the emotions it can bring. It does fit in with the instrument though .
