Initial post warnings: Not suggested for kiddies or those who turn off the news. Minor spoilers for the beggining of the comic. Official site can be found here: vforvendetta.warnerbros.com/Trailers can be viewed here; Quicktime required: vforvendetta.warnerbros.com/trailer.htmlI've just finished reading the entirety of the comics and must say I'm impressed. It's incredible. Having said that and being aware of the upcoming movie I'm curious of other member's opinion. I must confess, after watching the trailer's I'm feeling a bit leery. Notable changes evident from the trailers include Evey being assaulted by the police for being out after curfew apposed to a sting-type cop initially cornering her for prostitution. Comicverse, several other cops show up and sneer their prerogative as such is having their way with her before killing her. Thereon is the first appearance of V. Cloaked and masked in the grinning visage of Guy Fawkes, he sweeps up quoting Macbeth. Tear gas and a few choice explosions later he and the girl are safely away and thus begins the tale. I dearly hope that the Wachowski Brothers don't intend to make this chocked full of CG just because they can (Distinct possibility if the teasers are anything to go on). And while I haven't seen a great deal of Natalie Portman's acting, I think(/hope/pray) her ability surpasses what she had when countering Cardboard-Christian Haydenson. So, thoughts people?

I saw the poster at the movies yesterday and I had never heard of it before and I was thinking it looked just like Van Helsing from the back

Ahhh! That's the reason Natalie Portman shaved off her head! I read in my Time Magazine about 7 months ago that she had shaved her head off to act as prisoner in a new movie

V For Vendetta is an excellent read(I just bought the Hardcover edition at Christmas) and I for one cant wait for the movie. the fact that it was delayed was total rubbish.it wasnt that the movie wasnt finished it was because they werent let release it on the 5th of November(Guy Fawkes Day), because Guy fawkes is still a demonised figure in the UK .although the fact its being released on St Patricks Day is cool it would have had way more impact on the 5th of November-man I cant wait all the same favorite quote? "I am an Idea Mr Creedy, and Ideas are Bulletproof...." great thread BTW-I will hero you many times for it

Ha! I hadn't realized it was originally going to be released on November fifth. This makes March doubly boonful, though. One, Vendetta comes out, two Batman Beyond Volume one is released! I've got my vigilante-fix. :happy dance: All of V's quoting amuses me greatly. Mostly because I like to quote things even when they're only relevent in the most vague sense. Because I like making alusions. My Scarecrow is proof enough of that. I loved that line too. Oh, and thanks for the hero!

Gonna go and see this in IMAX if I can. The Rhyme is intregal to the story and the movie should have been released on that date-Guy Fawkes day.St Patricks Day wont be a good opening day in Ireland for it and thats for sure

I am looking forward to seeing this movie. It seems to be getting loads of mixed reviews but the trailers look promising.
I was reading the talkbalk section from the website which seems to have its fair share of nutters, but, the biggest percentage of the writers loved it.
Here's hoping.

Saw the movie earlier tonight. I have to say that I regret doubting the Wachowski brothers. They did a marvelous job adapting Vendetta into a movie. I had a few qualms, such with Evey and some missing subplots, but all in all it was excellent. Also, as it turns out, Natalie Portman can in fact act when she's not costaring with cardboard. Hugo Weaving was wonderful in his ability to act through the mask. As predictable the special effects were stupendous. </two cents>

This was an excellent movie. It's so wonderful that a film like this can really make you sit down and think.

This is the first actually good movie of the year. This made me think. Could this really happen? "V" was crazy. I thought this guy was as nuts as the All Star Batman.

"V" was crazy. I thought this guy was as nuts as the All Star Batman. The difference: V is an idealist to the core of his being, All Star Bats is a bastard.

The difference: V is an idealist to the core of his being, All Star Bats is a bastard. Now that's a little harsh, don't you think?

Sorry, but I have no love in my heart for Old Frank Miller. Stopping there in effort to prevent further digressing or bashing.

That was the most politically provocative film i have seen to date. I urge everyone to see it.
I have to read the book now but after seeing that i cant imagine why the writer would refuse to have his name up there. At risk of a flaming from the true fans i will reserve my comments untill i read the book.
I have seen the mask that can be bought but i never thought anything of it untill now. The meaning behind it is worth going out of my way to own one.

I saw it Saturday night, and words really can't describe how much I loved it. I'm getting the gn next time I'm at the comic shop for sure! SPOILER WARNING! My favorite part was after V died, and all the people who believed in his ideals showed up in Guy Fawkes masks. Then they all watched as Parliament Square was indeed blown to bits. Superb!
