Info has been going around about a new Thundercats show, being produced by WB, for 2006.
I recently spoke with Larry Kenney, the voice of Lion-O in the classic 80s show, to see whether he had been approached to voice Lion-O again. Here is what he had to say:
"I've heard about the WB series, but haven't been invited to participate. Nice to know someone's thinking of bringing it back. ..........Sure, I'd LOVE to play LION-O again!"
You hear that WB?!

I would LOVE to see Thundercats return!! I picked up the first DVD set the day it came out and spent the whole day watching it. My partner in cartoon crime (my little girl Morgan ;D) was running around the house yelling THUNDERCATS HOOOOOOO!! for weeks. I cannot wait to pick up the next DVD set!

I always regretted not getting into the original series more when it first aired. I was more into Silverhawks. TC's animation was pretty good if I remember correctly.

Who are your guys' favorite Thundercat? Mine is Panthera. The spikes were so freaking cool.

FYI - from one of my animation industry sources I got word that a Thundercasts remake has been floating around for years...this is just the latest installment...character design has even been done over and over...so we can't get TOO excited just yet....but I'm hopeful!
THUNDERCATS HO!

I cannot wait. Xmas of 2005 i must have thundercats dvd. I watched it as reruns on the original toonami and even before that. When vertigo made a comic of it i tried following it but it got too hectic and out of contuity.
Matt i hope you'll keep us updated on this.

Awesome! I hope its as good as the old series. The designs were pretty good for that time period and the animation wasnt too bad I just hope they will come out with a new Spiderman's series soon...

Thunder....Thunder...ThunderCats Ho!
I loved that show more than anything as a kid I'd love to see it again! LION-O was probably my favorite though. Well, I take that back it's a tie between Panthero and Lion-o

man this is great news-if it gets a figure tie in froom say mattel, toybiz or Hasbro-it will be gold. I plan on getting the Thundercats on DVD sooon as I was a huge mark for them with Panthro being my favorite-I just hope this experiment doesnt go the same way as MOTU-because that was difficult for me as a fan of both Modern and Vintage Toons/Toys as with M.A.S.K., 2006 will see me hunt down all the cats a few villians and the Thundertank from this line

UPDATE - here is some of the pitch art that was made up for the potential new series..a number of artists were asked to do these, so this may or may not be close to what they actually go with. When this show gets an official announcement, I will be running a fansite dedicated to it. Lion-O Mumm-Ra

[shadow=red,left,300]I'm liking that Mumm-Ra concept..very nice. The Lion-O, it's missing something..I just can't put my finger on it. [/shadow]

Wow, Mum-Ra looks very diffrent. I guess I'll have to wait for the show to make any comments. Anyone who's followed my posts knows how I feel about anime, but what did I expect??? We'll see

LION-O IS AMAZING! Has the same concept as original, little clothing, long hair, sleek body yet threatening. Mumm-ra is very different and although design is quite neat, I dont know how it'll actually fit into Mumm-ra's personality, we'll see, can't wait for the new Thundercats!

I love the design for Mumm-Ra. I'm still not sold for Lion-O. I look forward to a more panther version of Panthero. He always was my favorite. With any luck, there won't be any Snarf in this one.

Wow! Those are neat. I hope the show takes off. I'd like to see it. I enjoyed the 80's toon. I even had a Lion-O figure. I wish I still had it.
