I've decided to start an official thread for the longest running animation show on TV: THE SIMPSONS. Talk about your favorite moments, couch gags, and Tree House of Horror specials. Enjoy. My favorite episode is when Bart puts up an internet cartoon called Angry Dad based off Homer. My favorite couch gag is when they're being catched by firemen on the couch and Homer misses it and falls threw the floor. And my favorite Halloween special is when Homer becomes Death. All hilarious.

[shadow=purple,left,300]I know that we once had a "Simpsons" thread on the boards, but oh well.
Anyway, I used to love "The Simpsons" until they tried emulating "Family Guy." The show was actually an animated sitcom, well-written and pretty funny, until "Family Guy" became more popular. After "Family Guy" debuted, "The Simpsons" fell pretty far from grace (don't get me wrong, it still has it's moments- but I barely watch the show anymore to list them) because they had to either match or go above FG's pop-culture status. They now rely on stupid gimmicks (Pie Man? Revealing Comic Book Guy's Name? A Bear-Fighting Suit?) more than anything, making it almost unwatchable. It's almost as bad as "Will and Grace." [/shadow]

for me the Simpsons stopped being entertaining after season 9-Im sorry but celebrities playing themselves isnt automatically funny my favorite ep of the Simpsons is the one where they parody Cape Fear with Sideshow Bob....... em.... we object to the term urine soaked hell-hole, when he could have said pee pee soaked heck hole man thats and Mr Thompson crack me up every time Fed:when I stand on your foot and call you Mr Thompson you say-Yes? Homer to other Fed(after hours of this)he must be talking to you oh man what an episode!! I also liked the St Patricks Day episode because it was a great jab at what happens in the aftermath here in Ireland. my favorite scene is when the British chip shop just explodes for no reason(presumably because of Pats Day) and everyone cheers(its real stereotype comedy fitting in about 5 in one scene-GENIUS)although Sky One always cut that scene out and I never knew it existed until recently when Irish TV stations began broadcasting the Simpsons-but they aslo used to trim halloween specials my actual faves of all(up to series 9 that is)

The Mr. Plow episode aired last week in my area. Besides the crazy Adam West guest star appearance, there was one moment that was pretty funny. I'm going to quote it it, but I'm not sure if Matt or the staff will allow this, but here it goes: Insurance agent: Now it says here that you were coming home from a place called "Moe's". What is that? Homer thinking: Don't tell him you we're at a bar. But what else is open at night? Homer: It's a pornography store. I was buying pornography. Homer thinking: Heh, heh. Genius.

They showed one the WHAT IF? episodes of Futurama the other night and I was wondering: Which of those three was your favorite?
What if Bender was a giant? What if Leela was more impulsive? What if Fry had never come to the future?

It's that time of year again. It's time for the Simpsons TREEHOUSE OF HORROR! What will happen this year?
On another note, they sometimes do things that don't get it. In one episode, Homer tells Marge somethings that he's done worse. Including "Ruining Lisa's wedding in the future." HOW DOES HE KNOW? Plus, in another episode, Homer says that if he and Ray were together they would have taller kids. DID THEY HAVE TO POINT OUT THAT THEY REMAINED THE SAME HEIGHT NEARLY 20 YEARS? Another thing, what was with the Mr. X episode where Homer and the family end up on "The Island" and stay there? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? They should leave stuff like this for the TREEHOUSE OF HORROR!
They shouldn't try to point out the obvious on the show.Plus they make Homer look like the stupidist guy on the planet. In the original episodes he was kind of responsible with some brain cells. And look at him now.

Tonight's episode showed Homer at his stupidest. It was Father's Day and Homer was treating it like Christmas. He also believed in a Daddy Claus and a Superbowl Bunny. Plus, the knife Bart bought him had so many things on it, I said "Oh no, don't get him that!"
But there was something weird about this. Father's Day is in June right? Then why were the kids still in school? FATHER'S DAY IS IN SUMMER!
