The game is New Super Mario Bros. and it is coming out for the Nintendo DS on May 18 I believe. For any of you who grew up playing the Mario Games of the 80's and early 90's I am sure you are drooling over this game. It's a retro 2-D side-scroller with 3-D character graphics. Check out the link for movies! mario.nintendo.com/What are your thoughts?

I'm really, really looking forward to this one. The old school Mario side scrollers are some of my favorite games. Mario 64 & Mario Sunshine just didn't do it for me...but a new side scrolling adventure..count me in!

I'm TRYING to wait for the better version, but man, it's hard with games like this being released!

But I also knew when they first showed the DS at E3 a few years back and showed the New Super Mario Bros. that I would end up getting the system just for this game.

As if New Super Mario Bros. wasn't enough to convince some of you old-school Nintendo'ers, I think I may have created a new word there, E3 as anounced a side-scrolling sequel to Yoshi's Island for the DS as well as a traditional overhead/3-D Zelda game for the DS. It looks like Nintendo is going back to their roots finally and releasing some exciting, up-to-date, yet traditional games for the DS Yoshi's Island 2The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The game looks amazing! But I'm not really into hand helds. Any word on whether they are going to put something like this out on a console system?

Although nothing like this is planned for the Wii or Gamecube, Nintendo however announced at E3 Super Mario Galaxy. I hope that helps. Another thing in regards to Phantom Hourglass & Twilight Princess. Phantom Hourglass is a continuation of the story from The Wind Waker. & Twilight Princess will be playable on the Wii as well as the Gamecube

No Mario 2D side-scrollers for the consoles but Super Mario Galaxy, a 3D platformer similar to Mario Sunshine or Super Mario 64 is set for release on Wii.
