So basically I was wondering who here's interested in getting a Nintendo Wii and what your thoughts are on it.
I'm definitely gonna save up my money and wait in front of the line at Target Sunday morning on November 19! ;D

[shadow=purple,left,300]From what I understand, it's more cost effecient than the PS3, and apparently it is far better in terms of graphics and playability than the X-Box 360. Of course, I have no time for gaming, so I'm not buying it. [/shadow]

Really? Better graphics? Im actually tornbetween PS3 and Wii, seeing I cant get both. Im really excited for Wii's Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSB are the best games ever), and Metroid 3. I dont know about the controls but fromwhat I've heard they are actually not hard to work at all and are extremely natural movement like reflexes to the game. It seems like a fun experience and I definately want it!

[glow=red,2,300]the read out of specs makes it less powerful and worse graphics than the 360 with it slightly improved from the game cube,But I will get one when they are cheap to download all those classic games. ;D[/glow]

Also the graphics are better than the PS2 and GAMECUBE. I don't think it compares to PS3 or XBOX 360. So basically what I know so far from wii.ign.com is that: - Release date is November 19 - Wii will come with a game included (Wii Sports), one Wii-Mote, and the system itself - Cost of the Wii is 249.99 - Cost of the Wii-Mote is 49.99 - Cost of the Nunchuk Controller (Used for playing with first person shooting games and Zelda; it also has a motion sensor device on it) is 19.99 - Games are 49.99 - 4 million consoles will be shipped to America from November 19 to Christmas holidays I'm looking forward to Zelda, Smash, Wii Sports, and Fire Emblem and any other fun party games

Ive heard from blog entries at their site that they have 50 games?

Well I know the launch games are Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Wii Sports, Red Steel, Tony's Hawk Down Hill Jam, Madden NFL 2007, Dragon Quest, Super Money Ball: Banana Blitz, Metal Slug Anthology, Trauma Center: 2nd Opinions, Elebits, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Blitz: The League, Rayman: Raving Rabbids, SpongeBob SquarePants, Disney/Pixar's Car. Those games will be release November 19. But more games will be release all the way through out the Christmas Holidays. I don't know which ones though. Actually on Wiki, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii#Confirmed_launch_titles they have some more launch titles. But more should be coming throughout the holidays. So I believe 50 is the right answer.

Not yet, sold out everywhere x.x Ayenlou, does everything you listed come for only 249.99? Including the nunchuck?

For 249.99 you get the Wii-mote, nunchuk, console, motion sensing bar, the stand for the console, wii sports, and all the cords needed. But 250 is a good deal getting both the remote controls and a game!

I picked one up in Times Square while on vacation and just got home with it yesterday. I absolutely love it. It's worth the price of the Wii just for Madden 2007 and Zelda alone.

I can't stop playing Madden 2007 on the Wii. It's really quite a different game entirely. I absolutely love it.
I also picked up Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz to play with my wife and she really loves those types of games and while the controls were a bit wonky initially it is a lot of fun.

I heard its the controls for Madden that make it so great. So how do the controls on Madden work Patronus?
I'm glad Nintendo gave Wii Sports with the console its seriously such a fun game. My forearm is actually a bit sore the next day after wii-ing for like 3 hours haha

I guess I'll have to try it out. I'm still really skeptical about the wii-mote. I don't think I've ever had such a hard decision on what console to get. I probably won't get anything until next year, but usually I already know which one I want. If only the PS3 didn't cost sssssooooo much. I've never been a big fan of Xbox. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

All my friends who have tried it have LOVED it even ones that are non-hardcore gamers have enjoyed it. Play with it for a good solid couple of hours and I'm sure you'll walk away knowing what to get. And your forearm will be sore for the next 2 days too haha. And plus its cheaper than the consoles and it has the built in wi-if which is cool. But you are right though the PS3 has some sick graphics but if only it wasn't so expensive

My forearm is actually a bit sore the next day after wii-ing for like 3 hours haha Well, on offense you have to actually jerk the remote back toward you to hike the ball and then you can push the d-pad to the appropriate and then make a "throwing" motion with the wiimote in order to throw the ball. You can actually make pump fakes and other moves by pressing the appropriate buttons. If you are running the ball you use the nunchuk and jerk it to the left or right to juke in that direction and hold out the wiimote to stiff arm. It's very cool. Kicking the ball is handled by quickly thrusting the remote upward after the ball is snapped. You have to be careful to keep the thrust straight or else the ball will slice in one direction or the other. In general, gone are the days of the 70-7 Madden scores and it really keeps you involved in the game and makes you focus more. It honestly is like playing a completely different game.

I heard that the PS3 games are more expensive than the other consoles too. I just love Sony's franchises of MGS, FF, GTA, and the games that Naughty Dog and Insomniac come out with. While I like Mario, he has been demoted to one game per generation. And to date, I have not played Zelda. I have played Metroid but didn't like it.
So far, I don't know anyone that has a Wii for me to try.

Not sure if you heard, but GTA 4 is going to come out at launch with both PS3 and XBox 360!
Both the PS and PS2 were extremely buggy at launch. As much as I'd like to get a PS3, I'll be damned if I am going to pay $600 AND be a beta tester.
I literally got my XBox 360 and Wii for cheaper than just a PS3.

Yeah, I heard that GTA 4 would come out for the 360 at the same time. I only heard it after I posted though. Unless they get MGS 4, I don't see enough reason to get a 360. I'm tied right now with getting a PS3 or a Wii. The 360 is a distant second.

The 360 had some really nice deals over Thanksgiving if you were gonna get one should have gotten it then. Some times had a limited amounts of 360's for 100 and lots of stores had good bundle deals. Looks like Microsoft is trying to find a way to stay in the competition still.
And as for trying the Wii, Dark Nightwing, maybe try your local EB/Game Stop and see if they have a Wii Booth up. Westfield malls also have Wii Stations up so ppl can try.

Yeah, I actually just bought a 360 over Thanksgiving as well. I got a deal at GameStop where I got the Pro System, a 1 year replacement plan warranty and Call of Duty 2 for $399.99. I couldn't pass that up. I'll likely get a PS3, but after it drops in price. A couple of years down the road likely. I refuse to pay $600 to be a beta tester again like I did with the PS2. It isn't an issue for me as I haven't played the MGS series. The only proprietary PS game I play is GTA. I look at it as $400 + Halo 3 > $600 + Metal Gear Solid 4.

I am actually not a huge FPS fan to be honest. They tend to bore me. Although, I'm going to try get into more as Rainbow Six: Vegas and Gears of War both look interesting.

MGS is not fps. It is third person and rellies on stealth. The stealth isn't that realistic, which I like because I thought they took things way overboard with the Splinter Cell series. If you end up getting a PS3, I strongly suggest you go back and play 1-3 as they are all a blast. Or now that you have a Wii, play Twin Snakes instead. Gotta love backwards compatiblity!

Oh, I may have to check it out. Currently I am playing "Trauma Center: Second Opinion" and it's enjoyable enough. I'm glad I just rented it, but it does show off some of the Wii features.
