Hi guys, I've been away for awhile to work on a new website (see signature) but I'm back. Anyway to get to the point, I didn't see a thread on it so here it is. What do you guys think of this new series? I think it'll be great, especially after seeing that trailer online. Yes, yes, Marvel is being sued because they used a Foo Fighters song without permission but who cares? I don't. ;D

Hopefully it'll be more like X-Men tas then X-Men Evolution, we'll see

I am pretty pumped for it. I just wish he was wearing more of the brownish looking uniform, that yellow one is gross...

Stylistically, this looks like a continuation of X-men Evolution. I don't see why Wolverine get top billing though. X-men has always been about the team aspect and I don't care for it when they single any one character out as being above the others. It doesn't matter because they still aren't going to bring back my favorite X-man.
BRING MORPH BACK!

I thought this was just a DTV movie? Nope, it's a series. It's suppose to air on the BBC but there's no news on any American network that will air it. That's kinda the point. The X-Men aren't the X-Men anymore. It's up to the most unlikely member to bring them all together again. Watch the trailer just in case you haven't already. Completely random-ish: I hate how people keep talking about the anime voice actors in this. The fact is, anime is just Japanese cartoons and voice actors are just people doing it for a living, there's nothing to get excited about.

Morph was a character created specifically for the original X-Men animated series. he wont be in any other series ever and he'll never be in the comics. there is a comic version, but he's in Exiles and is from a different reality, and that version is based off of the Earth-616 Changeling not the animated character. and the reason Wolverine has "top billing" is because this series will be airing around the same time that the Wolverine movie will be coming out, so it's just smart business and marketing on Marvel's part.

I am aware of Morph's history as a relatively unknown X-man in the comics (he did exist, though he looked quite a bit different) and how they reinterpretted him specifically to kill him off. In my eyes, that does not matter. He is still my favorite. He was one of the most interesting characters in that show. If the comics would embrace him, he would be in all the new X-men media. Therefore, I hold a bit of resentment toward the X-men comics.

Morph from the X-Men Animated Series never once appeared in any Marvel Comic. i'm a huge X-Men fan, and he never appeared in any issue. please tell me the issue you think you saw him and i can tell you who the character really is. there are 2 characters named Morph in the comics: Morph from Age of Apocalypse who is the Earth-295 counterpart to Earth-616 (regular Marvel U) Changeling, and the Morph from Exiles who looks just like the Morph from AoA. Exiles Morph is also his home reality's version of Changeling. Changeling is an old villain from early on in the X-Men's history. Changeling has never been known as Morph. so is you could tell me the issue that you think Animated Morph appeared i'll look and see. i may have missed him, but i doubt it.

ha ha the x-men comics appaled me until they reached #200 maybe you shd try x-en #1-7 when Jim Lee made x-men what it was good times! Chris Claremont and John Byrne had already done it. Jim Lee was much, much later and didnt make the X-Men what it was. those 7 issues were not that spectactular. the story was not great, only the artwork was good. obviosly we have another non X-Men comic reader making ridiculous statements out of left field. the entire run of Claremont as writer was some of the best X-Men stuff of all-time. you might want to go back and read some of the highlights of his run, most of which was with John Byrne draing or John Romita Jr. drawing. we have the entire Proteus saga, Phoenix saga, Dark Phoenix saga, the pinacle of the run, "Days of Future Past", the one-shot, "God Loves, Man Kills", all the Wolverine in Japan stuff, the Morlock stuff. all of that was before Uncanny X-Men # 200. those are some of the best stories in all of comics. you are entitled to your opinion, but you should read some of the issues before you make ludicrous statements like that. Chris Claremont is who made the X-Men what they are. basically his entire run was the basis for the X-Men Animated Series from the 90s.

Changeling = Morph & Morph = Changeling. They could not use the name Changeling in the show. DC owned the rights for Changeling AKA Beast Boy. So they changed the name of the character and his personality. As an X-men expert, I'm sure you are aware that Changeling debuted in the late '60's and was killed off. That is why he was the perfect candidate for the show. So as stated above, he did exist, though he was under a different alias.

That is why he was the perfect candidate for the show. So as stated above, he did exist, though he was under a different alias. wow. i dont know where you got this information from, but it is 100% wrong. firstly, Changeling was only thought to have died, he was still alive, and returned to the comics again before the animated series even began. he's still alive now and still known as Changeling. so no, he was not killed off. i believe it was you that said that Morph was specifically made for the show so they could kill someone in it. you have now contradicted yourself. if the character was created for the show (which he was), then he cant possibly be a character from the comics, who has a different name. Morph's real name was never given on the show, he looks nothing like Changeling, and has completely different powers. there is no way they are the same character. Changeling can fly, Morph cant. that should tell you right there that they arent the same. also every character from that animated series looked exactly like their counterpart from the comics. Morph and Changeling look nothing alike. they are not the same character. also, Marvel's Changeling appeared before DC's Changeling. so how can DC own the rights to the name? Marvel owns the rights to the name, hence why DC changed Changeling to Beast Boy, and why he was named Beast Boy in the Titans animated series, while everyone else had their original names, i.e. Speedy, Aqualad, Robin, etc.

Press releases are saying that Wolverine and the X-Men and the new Iron Man: the animated series are going to air on Nicktoons Network.
This sucks. I don't have the channel and the new X-Men cartoon seemed cool.

No, The Nicktoons channel has been around for awhile. In my area its part of the digital expanded cable packages. Its one of those, its not a premium channel, but your still gonna have to pay to watch.

some new info on the show. it will air in spring 2009. it is not based off of any particular stories from the comics. the X-Men team are adults, not students. there will be some students in the show though, as both Dust (hopefully we get a figure) and Sammy Pare are confirmed. the DTV movie Hulk Vs. is set in the same universe and takes place before the show and Hulk will be appearing in an episode of the show. the main premise will be X-Men vs. Brotherhood of Mutants, with some Sentinel stuff and some Weapon-X stuff as well and most likely a trip to the Mojoverse, as both Mojo and Spiral are confirmed for the show. there are some trailers out now. they dont look bad and i'll be giving this show a look. i hate that it got pushed back though.

Jean Grey has a very limited role on the show in the first season. the premise is that her and Professor Xavier go missing and Wolverine assembles a team to search for them. Emma Frost finds Xavier, but he's apparently in a coma, and they are searching for Jean. i think they are trying to stay away from actual comic stories. i'm hoping we at least get Madelyne Pryor though, but we'll have to see. but no Phoenix in the first season is confirmed.
