a very good ep
all i have to say is they did a very good job with killer croc. good voice, good looks, and he played well(choreography)
as for the storyline all i can say is that it kept me interested and i liked alfred's villain museam that was in the works. Good dialogue, it wasnt cheesy and batman had as much cunning as ever trying to drown croc knowing he cant live underwater. and croc would make an excellent figure with a jet ski. plus i liked the scuba batsuit it would make a good figure that came with the bat-jet ski.

[shadow=red,left,300] The episode was pretty good, although I'm a bit iffy on Croc's cajun accent. (Reminds me too much of Leatherhead from TMNT). Seeing Alfred putting together the trophy room was a nice surprise. Anyone else notice the Kabuki Twins masks? Hmm, wonder what they look like without them? As for that wetsuit that Bats wears in the last half of the episode, it reminds me of a figure that's already out. This one to be exact.[/shadow]

[shadow=purple,left,300]First of all, this episode wasn't as awful as I expected. However, I think "Swamped" is my least favorite episode of the series so far.
Killer Croc's design and voice didn't make any sense to me. He sounded stupid and out of place. I think that Ron Perlman did a great job with Clayface in B:TAS, but he really didn't do anything for Killer Croc that any other voice artist could've done. But that didn't ruin the ep entirely.
I thought the plot was okay, though tattered in some parts (especially the beginning). I was also impressed with Alfred's decision to archive the various gizmos from villains' past. There were also a lot of other homages paid throughout the episode that I enjoyed. I thought that the fight sequences were outstanding and well animated.
In all, I give it a 5/10. [/shadow]

I liked this episode. Killer Croc in this episode reminded me of the Killer Croc who first appeared in the 1980's, a criminal boss who actually could run Gotham City. Previous incarnations had Croc as a just a tool for other crimebosses and not really a threat. This episode brought back memories as to what Croc should be.... A THREAT!! The Real Croc is back in this episode and bring on more of the Killer Croc! Yeah! Great Episode and great acting as well! ProfessorH!

[shadow=teal,left,300]It was....ok
Nothing too special. Didn't like the voice and I would have liked it better if they kept the old croc design (Way cooler). This ep. did have some cool fight scenes though, thats a plus. 6.5/10
And I must say that I really want a Bat-Jetski toy! [/shadow]

His characterization contributed to my dislike for the episode.
The other episodes you mentioned were pretty good, imo. I think I gave them both an 8/10.[/shadow]

Not so crazy about this ep. It backslid into that template they've used for a number of eps: Villain strikes. Batman confronts villain and loses. Batman gets frustrated. Batman confronts villain again and triumphs.
Other thoughts:
-- I'm not a big Killer Croc fan and this did nothing to change that.
-- Nothing in the way of character development and, in the absence of that, nothing that advances Batman's relationship with Yin or the cops.
-- The saving grace was the "origin" of the trophy collection. That, I liked.

I liked the episode a lot. Best version of Killer Croc yet, IMO. He's back to being the mutant crime boss instead of a deformed idiot. I didn't mind the Cajun accent as much as I thought I would. I liked that he was more lizard than just a guy with a skin condition because I NEVER bought into that skin condition origin. He was actually funny at times, especially "Mind the cowl" when Batman got dunked in the water. Trivia: (Note that quotes are paraphrased) Killer Croc's first lines to Batman are something along the lines of "As my daddy used to say...if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." Ron Perlman himself has said the line before in another comic book adaptation: Blade II. It's his character's last lines to Blade: "As my dad said before he killed my mother...if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." The line was written by David Goyer, screenwriter of Batman Begins. I really liked this episode. Alfred doing the Archives was awesome. All's we need in there now is a T-rex,a card, and a giant penny. If you're referring to a Joker card, I think there was a giant Joker card (probably from Topsy Turvey) in the Trophy Room. Let's see, there was also the Kabuki twins masks, the hour glass from "Riddled," the huge giant Scarface head...anything else? I can't remember, but was there also the jack-in-the-box from "The Bat in the Belfry"? The fight scenes were really well done. There were so many bad@$$ scenes: Batman's interrogation of the thug. Batman's fight with Killer Croc, resulting in Croc losing a tooth! Batman nearly drowning Croc to knock him out. Those were awesome. An improvement over "Fire and Ice" and even "The Laughing Bat." Pretty much on par with "The Bat, The Cat, and The Very Ugly."

I had assumed it would be a version of the yellow fig: www.legionsofgotham.org/THEBATMANaquaattackBatmanMIP

I just don't think Croc has all that much to offer. Then again, I'm not a particular fan of villains who are pretty much just bulk, like Croc, Bane, etc.
Gimme the thinkers.

Quite the contrary...from Bane's origins he HAS been a thinker. I found this episode to be...ok. I was honestly dreading it..thinking it would be terrible by all the descriptions given online...but his accent was barely noticible, so that didn't bother me at all. I know it makes sense for him to have a cajun accent and all...but the idea of it bothered me for some reason. The story was solid...plot seemed logical for a man-croc, lol..what do you expect?! I really don't care for croc much overall...but this spin made him a little bit more of a thinking criminal and less of a solid powerhouse. all in all 8 out of 10

This was a solid episode. Nothing terrific, but solid. Lots of action, some good dialogue, neat Batman outfit...this was, pardon the pun, a very "shallow" episode, but fun nonetheless. I enjoyed seeing Croc played as intelligent and a powerhouse, instead of the moron he was in B:TAS or the sociopath in TNBA. His accent didn't bother me like I expected it to, I still found Ron Pearlman's voice acting to be excellent, and clearly Mr. Pearlman was having a lot of fun in this role. That's the keyword here: Fun. This episode was a lot more fun than I expected -- I fully anticipated something on the level of, say, Topsy Turvy or my personal vote for worst episode, The Big Chill. What I got instead was something on par with Mr. Pugsley and Mr. Klein's previous effort, "The Cat, The Bat and the Very Ugly." Solid, fun entertainment.

OK, Matt, fair enough on Bane (though he has been portrayed at times as more muscle than mind). Anyway, I think you understand my point.
And by the way: Why so much debate about his accent, guys? It makes sense when you think about it.

I was a little disappointed with it...mainly because Croc didn't look like the original artwork I had seen of the Batmans character designs. I thought the original design for "the Batman" looked 100 X's better. Other than that I had o problems with the episode. PJ

I would also put it in the "average" category. The character was much more developed in previous incarnations, and I don't like the total "alligator" look (like the Mattel comic line figure, which appeared to be the template for this design). Compared to Aron Kincaid's voice characterization in BTAS anyone would fall short - even Perlman. I also missed the interaction with Yin and the police - where were they? This was another episode with settings and plot devices that evoke memories of BTAS; if you want to establish your own, new Bat-universe then why have Croc set up shop in an identical underground sewer hideout? Compared to BTAS' "Vendetta" or "Sideshow" this "Swamped" does the character a disservice. Oh...I also loved the trophy room setup - that theme deserves it's own show...

I finally watched Swamped tonight. I was pleased with the story. The voice of Croc threw me off at first but I was lovin' it by the end of the show. I too enjoyed Alfred setting up the trophy/museum area.

Hey all! i thought this episode was not the best but not the worst! i thought it was an interesting new twist on Crocs next 'generation'. The voice did not bother me and the animation was good, i liked the flooded Gotham and the underwater scenes seemed cool! I am not a BIG fan of Killer Crock but this episode was not bad at all ... 6/10 story and 7/10 for new character! Oh yeah and i loved the Trophy / Souvenir room! I hope it grows over the Season which will be cool!
