For action figures it would be:
Batman TAS Wave 1 and 2. The black, red and orange color scheme looks awesome. I also like the fonts they used. Not to mention Batman's head with his trademark fierce stare is is uber-cool as well. Overall these packages really embody the BTAS style. Oh yeah the Gotham skyline at the bottom of the package is pretty cool too. I don't know why the heck they changed the background to a bright sky-blue, it doesn't match with the series' theme at all, as if Batman operates at bright daylight. Well the BTAS line went down-hill after 94 anyways...
I also liked the Batman Returns blister cards they had great artwork and the mightnight blue, red and purple color scheme worked.
The Dark Knight Collection's basic idea of package designs was good but the packages look just too crowed, there's way too much stuff on there.
for vehicles:
Batman Returns! As I mentioned the color scheme is great and the packages look sterile which is appropriate since our bats is a stylish kind of super hero.
The BTAS vehicle packages are not that good because the artwork is crappy IMO.
I think Batman Forever had the WORST packages EVER! What were they thinking? The green and blue rays were alright but why did they put so much emphasis on a canary yellow? BF wasn't as dark as B or BR but still that yellow sucks. If you switch the yellow with another blue or green the blistercards would actually look good. BTW am I the only one who dislikes the BF logo? WAY too much emphasis on the Riddler, the movie had other characters as well. Besides a question mark as a logo is just plain stupid.
I like Mattel's effort on the blister bubbles but the cards themselves look really generic and uncreative... Blue buildings and a Batsignal - gee I would have never expected that for a Batman line. The Croc Wave design is just ewww IMO

[shadow=red,left,300]Action figures:
-Kenner's Super Powers Collection I liked how each and every character was on their own personalized cards, not just some generic card with the lines name on it..(coughMattelSecretWarscough).
-Kenner Batman the Animated Series Again, personalized cards, and a very striking shot of Batman in the upper left hand corner (until the line changed to Adv. of Batman & Robin.)
-Kenner Batman Mask of the Phantasm Overall good design with a dark orange background, as well as a full body shot of Batman draped in shadows. Again, personalized cards which is a nice touch.
Ugliest card design......Between Batman & Robin and Batman Forever by Kenner
I had a few figs from Batman Forever in my MOC collection, and boy did they stick out like a sore thumb. Green and Yellow does not a Batman make. The Batman & Robin cards were just plain...nothing that screamed out..buy me![/shadow]

Hey everyone, Batman: The Animated Series all the way, baby. ;D Obviously this is very biased since I collect everything BTAS (and TNBA). I agree with Bullock's statement about personalized cards...individual character artwork is a very attractive feature of packaging design (G.I.Joe and Transformers from the 1980s immediately come to mind). The unfortunate thing about today's packaging design is that about everything (other than toys and the obvious) used graphics from style guides provided by DC. Hardly any variety....very unlike the 60s/70s goodies. Cheers, Frosty

My faves would have to be The Super Powers cards,as Bullock said they are individualised. LOTDK cards are big faves with me too, they just ooze cool to me. And believe it or not i really like the Total Justice Cards too,i just really dig the JLA members all charging forward. Not the best line of figures ever but i still have them all and the cards make up for it IMO.

I was just thinking that same thing FB. I really liked the artwork on the TJ line as well.
Mask of the Phantasm had their own unique cards - I liked those quite a bit too.

[glow=purple,2,300]I would have to go with the Total Justice package design and the DCD Hush design. The latter is so simplistic that it looks great (IMO).[/glow]

Oh yeah the MOTP cards were great - a little to pink but still, they had something mysterious about them.
BTW when was the MOTP wave released? The Phantasm figure would have been A MAJOR spoiler ;D

Hmm, can anyone guess what my answer is? ;D I'd have to go with Mego's Palitoy WGSH line which featured full body shots of the heroes. Matt, i'll send you a pic so you can see what i am talking about. Maybe you can even post it for all to see.

Legend Of The Dark Knight for me. Not only the packing, but IMO, the best fig made to date. Both the Blue and Grey and the Black version. ;D

Yes, I got to go with Roback on this one. PJ I'll also go with Mego boxed figures. I loved the full picture on the back, those classic side images showing the other figs that were available and the window box design. Also they were sooo easy to get at quickly! No twist ties (ugh!) just pop open the lid and it was playtime! The only other two that have the same appeal for me are the original 60s-70s GI joe figures and Big Jim's P.A.C.K. with that great Kirby art!

The Phantasm figure would have been A MAJOR spoiler ;D As I recall the Phantasm figure was the hardest to find and came out just after the movie opened You would have had to take it out of the blister to see who it was

We shouldnt forget alot of the Mego Corps playsets that were drawn by the hottest artists of that era. The Wayne Foundation is a classic along with many of the vehicle packagings. Aww, who am i kidding, i love em' all!! ;D
