Since I'm not the only designer to work on the Batman sets, you might have other questions about design, model building or even marketing.
The Lego Batman design team consists of 4 modelbuilders, 1 graphical designer, 1 concept designer, one part designer and 2 marketing people.
And this group is also the team that is responsible for the Star Wars sets (but try to focus on Batman)
Hit us with all your questions and hopefully most of them will be answered March the 1st.

What a fantastic idea Bonven. Please thank everyone involved for me!
I, personally, am very interested in the packaging and graphic design aspect of all merchandise.
I'm wondering a few various things.
**Will each package have anything unique, such as built in trading cards or comics to make them dually collectible?
**The mini-figure designs seem to be from various Batman eras. Were you going for something that represented the collective essence of each character, your own personal preference, or the perceived fan preference?
**Will any inserts, such as mini-posters, or other marketing tactics be employed? I picked up some great Star Wars lego postcards and mini-posters from Legoland in Mall of America back in 1999...can we expect anything like that?

This is a great idea Bonven. Re: the collectible aspect, any chance that we'd see, included in future sets, those little stands and cards that were included in the basketball minifig sets and the old *sniff* minifig theme sets. I'd love to have these to display the Bat figs.
Also Lego seems to be packaging each model, in a multi model set, in it's own bag. Will this be true for the Batman sets? Oh, and here's one for the AFOLs: how many new pieces were created for the Batman line?

Ok i have a few questions...
I saw the picture of the characters of which there was a Riddler Mr Freeze and Pengiun and i think there was a poison ivy. from what i have seen of the box sets i havent seen any of yet for these characters.
Or are you releasing Batman Lego in Waves?
Also after the Batmobile, BatWing, BatBoat, Wayne Manor and Batcave? What set is possible after that?
If you taking suggestions i would say possibily The Jokers Layer and The Riddlers layer would make ideal playsets. I mean out of all the villians, The Joker and Riddler, possibly the Pengiun and Mr Freeze have the best Hideouts in the batman world.
With the Joker you have a sort of Circus kind of set. Then you have the Riddler which is a green filled high tech neon question mark happy booby trapped base. Then Pengiun well a zoo set for pengiuns naturally and then an ice cave for mr freeze.
Ooooh yes i know what i was going to mention. Are you familure with alot of this under car neon or blacklight lighting you see as people tend to Pimp there rides. as the tv show is called. I was just wondering i saw that you had star wars lego light up lightsabres. I was just wondering could you use this same technology on the likes of the Batmobile or Batman or even The batcave... cause main part of the movies was the things lite up like candy and the batcave would be effective to have neon lights around it.

The sets we've seen thus far are going to be released in April/May - there will be another series of sets released in late summer. This series will be the UCS Batmobile, Arkham Assylum (featuring Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Scarecrow), and a few other sets. Arkham Assylum is a TRU exclusive. -Lenny

Will The Riddler show up? Why does The Joker set resemble the 1989 film climax?

I've been wondering, was the color change of the brown, light grey, and dark grey bricks more towards reddish brown and blueish greys a conscious decision or just a happy accident?

They were a concious (altho not properly researched) decision to try to bring some unity to the LEGO color palette.

May i see a pic of this Riddler mini ? Pics of Riddler have not yet been made public. Think Derby hat version. The essence of each character is what the designers were going for..a true classic appeal. This means that each character's look may be representative of different eras, comics, animation or film.

Here's a Knight's Kingdom Question: In the new sets (8821 & 8822, for example) are the mini fig torsos blank under the armor? BTW, the sets look great. Nice to see that the theme/story line is growing.

These sets just appeared on Brickset and prior to that on Eurobricks (thanks for the detective work Toa Tilius ) and Brickshelf. Can anyone in the know tell me if these will have a mass market distribution (incl. Shop@Home) or will they be exclusives?

Oops I have totally forgotten about this and now we are busy finalising for the first half of 2007.
Would you mind if I postponed this to April instead?

Was that a ......hint? ;D BTW, Totally unrelated question: What are the minifig capes made from/of? I've been wondering for years.
