While in Wal Mart today (another fruitless attempt to find Movie Masters) I saw something I never thought I would see: PLATOON action figures. Yes, I said PLATOON. There was a Charlie Sheen figure, a Tom Berenger (!) figure, a Willem Defoe figure and the back of the package touted a Johnny Depp figure, though I failed to find one on the shelf.
They looked to be about 3.75 inches, and the Charlie Sheen fig came with another set of arms (molded to hold a machine gun better, I suppose) and legs (they seemed to be squatting). I was laughing so hard at the surrealness of the whole situation I didn't check the other figures to see what accessories they came with.
If this is old news, I apologize, but I just can't stop thinking about these strange figures.

it must be an anniversary of the movie or something, as they made a minimate set for the movie and Sideshow made some 12" figs in addition to the regular figs that seem to be Wal-Mart exclusives.

Sadly, I didn't pay enough attention to see who made them, but for small, cheap looking action figures, the likenesses were pretty spot on.

And yet, Walmart bullied Mattel out of making a Lobo figure for the JLU line due to the character's "violence factor". Refusing to continue supporting the line (and likely most Mattel product) should they defy them. And of course Walmart stopped carrying JLU almost immediately afterwords anyway lol.

Punisher is just as violent as Lobo, if not more so. that store is so backwards. and they carry the Legendary Comic Book Heroes series which has some of the most violent characters in comics in the series. Conan, The Darkness, Ripclaw. the 3 of them are much more violent than Lobo. and they carry Wolverine figs in abundance, as well as selling hunting supplies.
