Ok, I live in the middle of nowhere and so I have no access to the modern world of comics, and there is so much going on right now that I don't know anything about and don't understand but I want to! I want to stay updated! I pretty much need a summary of final crisis to now!
Any help is appreciated!

I'll help the best I can. Here's a synopsis on Final Crisis: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_CrisisFor Batman, here are the basics: Bruce Wayne has been sent back into the past by Darkseid, leaving the DCU to believe he is dead. Dick Grayson takes up the mantle and Damian, Bruce's son, becomes Robin. Tim leaves Gotham and travels the world under the Red Robin guise. Other DC tabs: -Superman has gone to New Krypton. -Barry Allen has come back from the dead. On to Blackest Night which is shaping up to be the comics event of the year (screw Marvel's Dark Reign): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackest_NightThat's all I got.

On another note Hal Jordan decided to create his own Justice League, including himself, Green Arrow, Ray Palmer, Batwoman, Supergirl, Mikaal Tomas, and Congorilla. In addition to Jordan leaving the JLA to form his own League, Batman is believed dead, Black Lightning leaves the League to join the Outsiders after Batman's apparent death. Flash (West), and Red Arrow leave the League to solely be members of the Titans. Hawkgirl is in the hospital after Final Crisis, although it is revealed that she and Hawkman will rejoin the League after they are healed. (Although Ralph and Sue Dibny just killed them in Blackest Night.) Red Tornado cannot be reached after he left earlier to marry his wife. Superman leaves the League to pursue duties on New Krypton and Wonder Woman also leaves to pursue duties on Themiscyra. The lack of members prompts Black Canary to disband the JLA, although the remaining members, John Stewart, Zatanna, Vixen, Dr. Light, and Firestorm continue to fight Shadow Thief and Starbreaker. Paladin from Anansi's alternate Earth kills Starbreaker and Dharma reveals to Superman and Icon how he merged the Milestone Universe with the DC Universe.
Membership is presumed to be fluid for the near future, but a new team will form after the end of Blackest Night.

Coming from SDCC today, Donna Troy, Mon-El, and Dick Grayson are joining the League in the near future: The next-gen trinity, eh?

^ i dont see it being close to that. this version of Mon-El has never even met Donna or Dick, let alone known them and been close for long enough for them to be considered the next Trinity. especially since Dick isnt going to be Batman for very long, Donna isnt Wonder Woman, and Superman will be back from New Krypton. and with Connor now back i cant see Mon-El staying in the present for too long, especially since Legion of 3 Worlds basically put the Legion's continuity back together.

/\ Dude, don't think too much or geek out about it. They're all representing their mentors for the team.

^ Superman is not Mon-El's mentor. he finally freed him from the negative zone due to the Legion providing the cure and then he asked him to take care of Metropolis while he was on New Krypton. he never saved the world with him, fought crime with him, or even taught him anything. he met him, thought they were related, accidentally poisoned him and had to put him in the Negative Zone so he wouldnt die and then basically forgot about him. i wouldnt call that being a mentor.

^ they really dont though. thats what i'm saying. Mon-El is a Legion character who hasnt had much to do with Superman at all until recently. calling him a representation of Superman just isnt accurate.

Sorry All Star, but I kinda agree with jlavaia! They are NOT the new Trinity! NOONE can replace the old Trinity!!

Man, can't a guy make an observation without getting attacked? They're each representing a member of the trinity. Mon-El for Superman, Dick for Batman, and Donna for Wonder Woman. Can we please get off this now?

Semantics. Regardles of whether or not any of them are worthy of it or the most appropriate choice for it, and despite the fact its of course only temporary... these three ARE an allegory for the "Trinity". That is clearly the writers intention. It doesnt mean anything. Its just a device.

No disrespect, jlavaia, I'm gonna have to go with ASB on this one. Think about it: Donna was Wonder Woman, Dick is currently the Batman, and Mon-El was first billed as Superboy's brother, before it was discovered that he was from another planet.(Superboy #89)So, in a manner of speaking they do represent the trinity in some respect.

He's got a big "S" on his chest, he's flying, and doing everything superman can do, he even looks like superman! How could he possibly not represent superman!?!?!?
