[shadow=red,left,300]Goyer writing the script? How the heck is that good news?
I say we run over Goyer with a semi truck, then a steam roller just to be safe! Then we find ether Joss Whedon or bring back Michael Dougherty and force one of them to write a Superman script.
Otherwise Superman is doomed! [/shadow]

All-Star, so far you are alone in thinking Goyer is a boon for the franchise.
Out of all the brilliant writers looking for a job, they choose this hack. If you don't think he is a bad writer just go watch Flashforward. He turned a brilliant book into a TV-series that is so stupid it makes CSI:Miami and CSI:NY look good.
btw; Yeah, Michel Dougherty might be the only person that deserves a second chance at Superman. Trick r treat was amazing!

We got Nolan and Goyer working on this, the guys who revitalized Batman. How is this not good news?

[shadow=red,left,300]I love the idea of Nolan working on this.
But Goyer? First, The guy is a hack of a writer. Look at his track record. Blade Trinity, The Unborn, Jumper, Blade the series, and the unwatchable Flashforward (based on an amazing book) The way I see it if he can turn such a strong book into such a bad show, How the hell can he handle Superman?
And, his good movies like Batman Begins and Blade 2 worked well because they had really good Directors who possibly rewrote his scripts.[/shadow]

Wow, a script written by Goyer and with Columbus in the director's chair.
If this is all true, this movie is going to suck the big one!

I don't know the first thing about this guy which isn't necessarily a bad thing. He looks good enough so ill reserve judgement. I'm just still bumed its a reboot to begin with and seemingly being rushed. Most everything else thus fat seems fine enough to me.

The Returns sequel was going nowhere and we need something new and not another tribute to the Reeves series like Singer gave. It doesn't seem to be going fast to me. They just announced this last year and they're just now casting Superman. Besides, it's not supposed to be released until Dec. 2012. Plenty of time.

i dont think a reboot was needed, but it could be good if its done right. Superman was recently rebooted in the comics, so why not on film too. what they really should do is just take Secret Origin and make that the movie. it just fits and you can easily see it as a movie. plus it would be a chance to showcase Superman's awesome villains and not just Luthor. you would have Metallo & Parasite too. plus Sam Lane and the entire military. it fits with the modern stuff of the military against any alien. its what i'm hoping they do. i have many doubts about this film, but right now i am holding onto some hope that they go the smart route and adapt Secret Origin.

^ A Secret Origins adaptation would be awesome! ;D
Just as long as they omit the Legion of Superheros (to complicated to explain them in a two hour movie) and avoid the versions of Metallo and Parasite that appear in Secret Origins. Though I wouldn't mind if they adapt Birthright, while Secret Origins was well done and used more of the Superman mythology, I liked how Clark was wandering though Africa, pondering if he should even become Superman. It just felt much more realistic and much easier to relate.

I'm one of the few that actually liked SUPERMAN RETURNS, but I'm looking forward to this. I have a feeling they'll do a good job.

^After watching Legends of the Guardians: the owls of Ga'hoole and Sucker Punch and keeping in mind Goyer's hit and a miss track record I am getting a little bit concerned.
On the bright side I am liking the cast so far. Though I would have liked to see ether Brainac, Metallo, Parasite or even Mr.Mxyzptlk on the big screen sooner then seeing Zod again.

Yeah, I'm not dying to see Zod again, either, but I've heard good things about the guy they got to play him.
