[shadow=red,left,300]Since I am not really into discussing toys and wrestling. I was wondering if there are any Doctor Who fans on this forum.[/shadow] [shadow=red,left,300]Me, I have always enjoyed all the weird and crazy adventures with the good old Doctor. And I am looking forward to the new series with Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillian as the new companion, Amy Pond.[/shadow] [shadow=red,left,300]So what do you guys think? Do you think so far? Do you guys think that Matt Smith is a good replacement for the dearly departed David Tennant? Who's you your favorite Doctor so far? Who are your favorite companions? What are your favorite DW villains? Are you going to be watching the Series 5 premiere? Let the Doctor Who Discussion begin![/shadow]

Doctor Who fan over here as well. I loved David Tennant as the Doctor, but judging from the previews, I can see myself warming up to Matt Smith as the Doctor.
To answer your questions;
Favorite Doctor: First, Third, Fourth, Sixth and of course Tenth. Can't decide in between those five.
Favorite Companions: Susan, Ian, Polly, Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, K-9, Romona II, Ace, Rose, Captain Jack, Martha, Donna, and Wilfred.
Favorite Villain: Davros
Can't wait to see what series five will bring! ;D

It's about time someone had the brains to Start a Doctor Who thread! I had my doubts about Matt Smith taking over from the awesome David Tennant. But after watching the previews my doubts vanished. So excited for the premiere!

I'm becoming a HUGE Doctor Who fan.
I really like what I'm seeing this new season. Although I still really miss Tennant. He is "my doctor". Looking forward to this weekend's ep just to learn more about River Song.
I really should ween myself off this show just for the pure fact that there is so much and so much of that is cannon that it would extremely hard to catch up with. There is nearly 50 years for the tv show alone. Helps that they are all on youtube. Then all the spinoffs and radio plays. I got into this show with the return of the Master in season 3. I tried when scifi started showing it, but I got kinda bored with it for some reason and I thought Eccleson's Doctor was a complete jerk. It was Tennant and his interplay with Jon Simm that pulled me.
To answer jacktheskull's questions...
Favorite Doctor - Tennant (hands down), followed by Pertree but he may get tied with Matt Smith.
Favorite Companions - Sarah Jane Smith, Donna, Wilfred, (reluctantly admitting to) Captatin Jack Harkness, River Song (I NEED! to know more), K-9,
Favorite Villain - Jon Simm's The Master, hands down.

I know what you mean DrGreenEvil! After I saw the episode "Girl in the Fireplace" last year at a friend's place I was hooked!
And to answer the questions;
Favorite Doctor- Troughton and Tennant and maybe Matt Smith. I am really liking him so far.
Favorite Companions - Susan, Ian, Barbara, Polly, Ben, Zoe, Jo, Sarah Jane, Tegan, Donna, Wilfred, (also reluctantly) Captain Jack, River Song and Amy. (I like her already!)
Favorate Villian: The Master for me too!

Favorite Companions: Susan, Ian, Steve, Polly, Zoe, Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, Romona II, K-9, Rose, Captain Jack, Martha, Donna, Wilfred and Amy might also be joining this list soon!

Aw, No love for Barbara guys? Oh well... At times I wish he'd left Barbera in the Cave of Skulls ;D Anywho. Fifth season was fairly mixed. Matt is an excellent Doctor, and while he'll never be able to entirely replace David Tennant for me, i'm certainly warming up to him. The first and last episodes where really some of the best this season. The Eleventh Hour really cemented Matt's character for me. Kindof ashamed to say it since it's majorly nerdy, but I was in tears watching 10 die at the end of The End of Time, and I wasn't initially fond of Matt. He said alot of David Tennanty things in David's clothes and the only discernable difference betweent the two of them is that David was humanoid, whereas Matt seemed to be some sort of talking chin creature. The Eleventh Hour made me like him immensely, particularly the scenes with Amelia. (Fish custard ftw) But I didn't entirely buy him as being THE Doctor until the final scene with the Atraxi. It was abit like Matt/Moffet's version of the "I'm the Doctor! I'm a Time Lord!" scene from Voyage of the Damned. (Which is one the best moments of the RTD era in my opinion) What I really dug about this season is that it's similar, in tone & feel, to the Sylvester McCoy era. It's got the same kindof color palate, and the stories all have this sinister feeling at their core. Loving the way River's being developed. Initially I found her to be terribly smug an rather annoying when she was introduced in Silence in the Library, but after her amazing introduction in the Weeping Angel two-parter I quickly forgot about my initial hatred. Amy's an excellent companion, and looks fantastic in that mini-skirt but despite being so likable she's also very maddening. Rory isn't the best looking guy in the universe, and he certianly isn't the Doctor, but the man went through a ridiculous amount of pain & trouble for her and she still treated him like a red-headed step child. Fezzes are cool. Anywho, I suppose I should summarize my opinions about Who in general. Doctors: 10, 2, 4, 7 (possibly 11) Companions: Susan, Sarah, Martha, Rose, Donna (Mel needs to die in a horrible horrible rodent related accident) Stories: Blink, Midnight, Voyage of the Damned, Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords, Waters of Mars, Remembrance of the Daleks, Caves of Androzani, City of Death, Girl in the Fireplace, Gridlock, Human Nature/Family of Blood, End of Time (it had some amazing AMAZING moments, if you can overlook all the rubbish) I have a distinct feeling that River was referring to the following events regarding Silence:
