At the NY comic con this year Micheal Uslan was aksed about Miller directing a possible furture batman movie in the vein of DKR, he said the following: “I believe in Frank Miller 100%… I think the sky’s the limit in terms of Frank’s talent.”That is no denial, meaning something could be in the works. I love this idea, what do you guys think? Read the full artical here

I dont see it. I think the guy was just saying frank miller has the artistic ability to direct, not that he is gonna direct a movie. Its just to vague to varify anything.

Besides, I think it's almost completely certain that they wouldn't put out a DKR movie with Nolan's current Batman series coming out. You know how Warner Bros. is about not "confusing" moviegoers, tv watchers, etc. with multiple versions of the same character (like the JLU-The Batman thing). However, I do think it'd be pretty illogical in this instance to have multiple Batman film "continuities" at the same time. Maybe they'll think about it after Nolan's done, but right now, I think it's highly unlikely. In the long run though, I'm not sure they could do DKR justice on the big screen. It'd be kinda weird. I'd much rather see DKR adapted into a DC animated DTV adaptation, as those are gonna start coming into the spotlight soon. Incidentally, I'm finally at 2,000 posts! ;D

Frank directing DKR would be fantastic, I've been dreaming about it for years. But I don't see it happening anytime soon. I think Uslan was just implying he has the ability to undertake a large major production such as DKR.

[glow=red,2,300]dont reallly lie the idea, all that will happen is Frank will make the character to dark and it will happen to the film world just like DKR affected the comics
Frank really great but no thanks for his Bats film.[/glow]

I would love for this project to get off the ground, I would be behind a Frank Miller directed DKR film, I think it has tons of potential, and it wouldn't bother me if it was put out during the new Batman films, or after, either way a film like this should be made! Sure Neal Adams & Denny O'Neil brought Batman back to his roots in the 70's, but Frank Miller was the guy that solidified that in the 80's with his work on The Dark Knight Returns & Year One....
If a live action/Big Screen couldn't work, then I would love to see a version of this in a DCU Animated film, with Frank Miller heavily involved. I could see this working if they did it like they did the Spawn HBO series

The Spawn HBO series was bleedin amazing. I know it's incredibly unlikely to get a Batman series running on HBO in the same vein of Spawn while TB runs on the CW. But if it ever happens, They should start YO, & run through the Batman's carrer ending with DKR & DKSA

Ok, everyone talks about how they would love to see Miller direct TDKR. First of all, Miller should never be given free reign on it. His MO lately is to make everything MORE violent MORE dark, look what he's doing to the Spirit! The Spirit!! I believe they should make a TDKR movie, and have both Miller and Robert Rodriguez direct it together, that way Miller has a leash on him. And Bruce Willis should play Batman. But if Miller were to direct this movie by himself...boy, we'd have a problem. There's not a doubt in my mind that Miller would forget the story he wrote in TDKR and totally crap on it, trying to make it more dark, scary, violent, dirty harry, etc. He wouldn't follow the continuity at all, and i think the end product would be laughable. So, while i do hope they make this movie, keep a leash on Frank.

I highly doubt that. I like Rodriquez, but I can't see him helming a major comic book film like DKR. I love what he's doing with The Spirit, it looks better than the original comics ever did.

I don't see it either, but I'd love it if it happened, as long as he stays true to the material, and doesn't try to change it all around ala batman year one.
