I'm with Blackgate on this one. I mean this is the director that brought us the Lost Boys and Falling Down. He has talent, just not towards the bat.

Absolutely. I think Schumacher gets a bum wrap for directing B&R. He has done some really good flicks, he may do a good job with this. Plus, I dont think B&R was badly directed, it just wasnt what we as a fanbase wanted.

Joel's a great director, just not a great Batman director. I can see him doing Sandman somewhat, it depends on the script & casting. He should do an amalgam of several stories, as long as A Midsummer Night's Dream is there, I'll be happy.

I agree with the general consensus on this one. Schumacher is a semi-decent director (Tigerland, The Lost Boys, Phone Booth, etc) and I think he can pull something like this off. He wouldn't be my first choice for this project, but I don't want to judge his involvement just yet, if he's even involved.
Also, it was WB that wanted "Batman and Robin" as campy as it was, though Schumacher did go along with the request.

i don't think your giving him a fair shot i mean his batman movies were pieces of **** but he actually had a reason for it. I read in a book on Batman films Joel shumacher was under terrible studio pressure ( they didn't trust him like they trusted Burton) to make a "family Friendly" batman film and after much arduement he realized that the only way he could make a family oriented movie is if he threw in things reminiscent to the 60's show. (campy dialogue, over the top outfits and cheesy storylines). he was also under a lot of pressure to make it marketable ( toys and such) so he had to throw in more villains than he wanted ( bane). So he literally threw the third one down the toilet so that he could get kicked off the franchise but he was still under contract so in came Mr. Freeze.
- i hate, i mean hate those films. but at least there was a method behind the madness.

I am very surprised in this really. I kinda thought he would be blacklisted from doing comic book movies with how Batman & Robin turned out. I guess were gonna have to wait and see.
