i heard the reason his hands and neck are not white is because while he is wearing that joker mask, acid or something splashes on him, thus adhering the colors of the mask to his face. thats great and all, i just wish he was alllll white.

[shadow=red,left,300]However, I wonder why his neck and hands are not painted white to match with his face... . -The Shadow[/shadow] hmmmm.... i think he will be wearing gloves, thats why they dont need to paint his hands... nwei, i still dont like this version of the joker.... yes, its creepy and all, but i still dont dig that disfigured smile... its just plain weird...

i'm pretty sure, even if he was wearing gloves, they'd paint his wrist and upper arm and most of his hand. but they're not doing that.

Wouldn't it be funny if those pics were fakes to throw off all the spoiler junkies!?! I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't look like that at all, at least the image from the "ibelieveinharveydenttoo" website

All these images and video are great! Especially the one where Joker is in a purple suit! Well I don't care if his whole body is painted or not! Just the parts of him that are showing!

I'm glad Joker's sticking to purple and green. None of this orange stuff.

I just watched "Pan's Labyrinth" which Guilmoro Del Torror shot directly after finishing Hellboy. Towards the end of the film, the villainous Captain is attacked by the houskeeper, who was recently discovered as a rebel (the plot's irrelevant to my point, so I won't really reveal too much)
anyways. She gets a knife, stabs him in the back, the chest, & then shoves it inside his mouth & cuts through his left cheek.
The effect is very similar to The Joker of Lee Berjemero, it looks like he's smiling, it's really twisted looking. I like how he looks so far, but does anyone else think that'd be good later in the series?

When I saw this one scene, I was pretty much sold on the idea.

I tried finding a picture of the Captain with the cut face, but it wasn't to be seen anywhere. I made a terrible looking manip but Photobucket won't let me upload it! I'll try & get it up sometime today. It works! Waddaya think?

is that the real picture of him with the cut in his face? it looks photoshopped...
definatly reminds me of the captain from Pan's Labrynth...
but if that's the picture of him, with the cut in his mouth that make it look like he's smiling, then i like it...
it really emphisizes how sick & twisted joker is
the earlier pictures i saw with just the red over his mouth looked like crap...
i definatly like the cuts better

Yeah, yo're right. He does look like he had cuts but they then healed and turned into scars.

I wonder how much time is going to pass in the film for the cuts to turn into scars on his face. It also looks like his make up evolves a bit too, seems hardly there and then seems a little more there and cleaned up.

My prediction is that he has the scars already at the beginning of the film, and those are his only disfigurement. The white skin and green hair are self-applied make-up and are just part of his chosen persona. As being only make-up, the look would deteriorate and wear over the course of time. I'm thinking we may not even get an origin for the Joker in the film. He may just appear on the scene as a fully-formed mystery man. Keep in mind, the Joker first appeared in Batman #1 and didn't get an origin until the 1950s - and even THEN we didn't get a true name for him, just the Red Hood background.

no way, it can't be make up. its always been his disfigurment to have green hair and make up. if they screw this up i'm gonna be so P.O.'ed, joker has to have bleeched skin, laughing gas in his lungs and warped hair color.

There's been a zillion different versions of the Joker. He's usually had white skin, green hair, and red lips as part of his disfigurement. In the Dark Knight Returns we saw that the red lips were only lipstick. In the 1989 Batman, Nicholson had a permanant grin that was a departure from the comics. That film named him Jack Napier, and gave him an origin that differed from his comic book Red Hood origin. The animated Mask of the Phantasm gave him a background similar to the one in the 1989 film, but avoided any reference to the name, and the grin was certainly not permanantly fixed on his face. The tone and style of the character has varied wildly from Cesar Romero to Nicholson to Hamill and a hundred different comic book incarnations. All I want from the Joker in this film is that he be crazy, theatrical, deadly, and a fitting arch-nemesis for Christian Bale's Batman. Everything I've seen says we're getting that.

yes i agree. to make it realistic, it might not be possible for his skin to be bleached white or his hair actually turned green.
if you put bleach on your face, would it turn your skin white, or would it just burn the skin right off? so maybe the "bleached" look is not possible in Nolan's world, but make-up might be a more plausible representation.
and remember, this is Nolan's idea of what the Joker should be. if you made a film, you might make The Joker differently to fit in with "your world", the same way he's making Joker the way he think he should be.

remember, it's an interpretation. if you want the "real joker" if i can say that, he's in the comics. the movies are only a representation. who cares about the aesthetics as long as they nail the characters?

Yup, I remember the ep, they mention Joker, Poison Ivy and one other villain by name. I can't remember who. I remember the scene...I just can't remember the ep
