it's the episode where batman is in a padded cell in arkham asylum and he's going crazy because of Crane's fear toxin. He knows Scarecrow is on the loose but no one believes him. It's a really awesome episode.

It's a really awesome episode. I knew it had something to do with Batman being in jail or something, I just couldn't remember the details

Weird.

I think "Jack Napier" was given as a past alias of the Joker in TAS, without stating it difinitively as his real name. But that's getting into semantics...

no, the doctor said to Batman, "You refer to these criminals by their aliases given to them by their psychosis rather than their real names. You call Pamela Isely Poison Ivey and you call him the Joker instead of Jack Napier." something along those lines

it's kinda lame that the first full pic of heath-joker will be revealed on a magazine website when all the other important revelations (excluding the first shot of batman's new suit) were executed using the viral marketing sites such as whysoserious.com.

It really isnt lame. Empire magazine gave great support to Begins when it was in production helping with the advertising in the british market. Also they gave Begins 5 out of 5 and expressed their fondness of the film and the crew and actors , plus the pic is proberly for a magazine where again they will get a exclusive interview. lol anyway we already knwo wat the joker looks like from websites campaigns, this is for the oter fans that dont take part on the internet Jack

someone has said in the comments section on that page that it might be a pic of Heath without make-up. in that case it's no big deal, we already know what he looks like so is not really "spoiling" anything for us.

Its for the upcoming cover of the magazine. The picture is pretty cool but it is just a full on glossy introductory image of the joker. Seemingly the issue features just an interview with Ledger... Dark Knight world exclusive! "Meet the Joker... one on one with Batman's new nemisis". "He's a cold blooded mass-murdering clown!"

I think one of the challenges with the Joker is that he needs to be shocking and disturbing and familiarity with the character is counterproductive to that. It's the same reason why Jason and Freddy and Michael Meyers get a little less scary each time around. I think that this version of the Joker promises to keep the important essence of the character while making him a little more "real world" to fit into the Nolan version of Batman. I think that the 1989 film's Joker had two big problems: Nicholson's own persona overshadowed the character, it was never "The Joker" it was Nicholson with green hair; and there was a slightly campy quality to the character that made him feel a bit like a more deadly version of the Ceasar Romero Joker.
I love that fact that most of the images we've seen of the Joker from The Dark Knight so far would be hard to identify as Heath Ledger if you didn't already know it was him. Ledger has proven himself as a strong actor in both good and bad films, and we've never seen him play homicidal sociopath before, so I think we will really disappear into the character in this film.
And I hope we don't get an origin. The Joker is had his best when he's an unsolvable enigma: Chaos to counterpoint the order represented by Batman. Even the Red Hood origin from the comics didn't come until the 1950s.
Just think, in the first movie, it took half the film's running time to get to the point where Batman was fully formed and in action. In the sequel, we're going to get two hours of Batman and the Joker going at it, and a full Two-Face origin to boot. I can't wait!

anyone able to get the hi-res pics that were under each card, that opened in a pop-up window? now it's been revealed, the individual cards aren't clickable so we can't save all 9 and make them into 1 large picture.

I hate the way the face looks. Same goes for the hair. They did a good job on the suit though.

I still dont know what I think really. I go back and forth on my opinions of how this Joker is shaping up. One minute I'm excited and the next I'm disappointed. That could be a good or bad thing. I simply have to reserve judgment till I see it all as a whole on screen.

The unfortunate thing is that we're doing all this analyzing based on the look alone, what's going to make it or break it is what he says and does in the story and on the performance...

I also didn't realize that his hair was receeding so much. I do love the clothes though, and for some reason it makes sense to me that he has such "silly" socks on, I almost want him to have little bunnies or something to that nature.

cover of an upcoming issue of Wizard: if you didn't know it was Ledger, you wouldn't guess it was him.
