[shadow=red,left,300]Not sure if anyone else has posted this (I've been away for a while), but I just read that little known actor, Armie Hammer has been cast as Batman in the upcoming JLA film! I'm sceptical about this choice, because I feel that Hammer is far too young for the part (he's about the same age as Robin in Batman Forever ). WB also confirmed Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul, Adam Brody as The Flash and Common as The Green Lantern. I'm worried... enewsi.com/news.php?catid=190&itemid=12230-The Shadow[/shadow]

I do not have high hopes for this. Come to think of it, never did.

I do not have high hopes for this. Come to think of it, never did. I agree, especially now that it looks like a motion-capture (ala Beowulf) JLA movie is out of the picture. I just don't see how WB can successfully pull all the elements together to make it work, and now that we have an idea of who may be cast... it appears as though all involved are trying to milk the cash cow on this. I have always been skeptical of a JLA movie. I haven't been against it from the start, but I've always considered it something which could only be done right if everything-- the script, the direction, and especially the cast-- was intertwined perfectly. It's a lot like a mathematical equation: If you mess up one step, you won't get the right result. There seem to be too many missteps to deem this "passable."

I don't mind that they are casting pretty much unknowns for the JLA movie. I think that it is super important that the actor playing the hero doesn't take away from that, because it's the superhero who should be the star.
Because if they got somebody like Matt Damon to play The Flash or another hero, I would have a hard time looking at it, I would keep saying hey that's Matt Damon in the Flash suit.
As long as these young actors can act, that is all that really matters to me. I like that they are getting young actors to play these roles because its (I think) an origin film and following them in the first years of being heroes is a cool concept and really makes it work. And if this film gets a 3 picture deal, they won't be looking too old by the time the third one comes around.
From what I have seen of Arnie Hammer his IMDB picture he looks the part and he is like 6'5

I think any big movie like this needs big name actors to give it mainstream attention. Otherwise, I think it would only attract comic book fans, and it wouldn't make as much money, and I hate origin stories! I'd rather see established actors play these roles in real-time, not show them when they were younger

Otherwise, I think it would only attract comic book fans, and it wouldn't make as much money And I am still going to say that as long as you have great acting that is really all that matters, especially with unknowns. The Hero should be the one standing out in a movie like this. I don't want to look up on the screen and see Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, etc... and say wow that is actor **insert** name** here** in the Bat-suit or playing Supes. For me it comes down to acting. Superman Returns proved to me that an unknown can really work, I mean who was Brandon Routh before he took up playing Superman? He had done some small stuff but that was it, and he was young, I think he was 24 0r 25 when he starting filming Superman. And Brandon did an amazing job and I can't wait for them to film Superman: The Man of Steel and I hate origin stories! I'd rather see established actors play these roles in real-time, not show them when they were younger I think that the Justice League of America origin story is a great story to tell, and that it will look amazing on the big screen
