There's a lot of buzz anytime a new Batman cartoon hits the air. All of us fans start digging out our Batman: the animated series DVDs, so that we can shoot down any claim that the new show may have to our beloved franchise. A franchise that Bruce Timm effectively built up and ruined for us all, lol. We love the Timmverse...and after that we got 'the Batman'. Admittedly, the show got better with time, but the premiere episode of 'The Batman' was its worst. This new cartoon, the Brave and the Bold, begins on a MUCH better note.
Firstly, I want to clear something up. I've watched the first episode "the Rise of the Blue Beetle" and aside from a rather annoying banter session in front of a tv near the beginning, this is not a pre-school cartoon. Not even remotely. There is action, a very physical batman and even talk of killing the Blue Beetle. That being said, the show is still appropriate for young ones.
It took me a few minutes of watching the show to get used to Diedrich as Batman..and the new style..but having grown up on the 60s show, Filmation cartoon and the Super Friends, this wasn't hard to swallow for me. Younger fans that grew up on Batman: TAS may be more resistant to accept this show, but I encourage you all to give it a fair whirl. Diedrich does a nice, deep and even at times fairly growly Batman. Not at all what I expected from him, but a pleasant surprise. The writing was witty without trying too hard, which I felt was important. I didn't want a slapstick show and this definately is not that.
I can't recommend this one enough. Its smart, stylized and fun. Not childish or silly...and is actually something that Batman and Dc Comics fans should enjoy. You can watch it with your kids without feeling that you're being played down to by the writers. Brave and the Bold delivers. Be sure to watch the premiere on November 14th!
SPOILERS!
The episode opens with Batman and Green Arrow tied to a giant clock by none other than the German-accented 'Clock King'! This incarnation of the Clock King has an actual clock for a face and sports a crown. Silly though this sounds....it actually kinda works. You get a lot of inner-dialogue from Batman in this show, which is actually kind of a fun change. We get to hear from the Dark Knight and get inside of his head a bit. As the episode progresses we are introduced to the Blue Beetle and taken through a wormhole to an alien planet that harbors a species that will remind you of the aliens if you've seen the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon. The unimind! Ok thats a Toy Story joke. Moving on....Kanjar-Ro is sucking the fuel from these aliens to power his ship and the Blue Beetle battles him to put a stop to it. The entire purpose of the mission is for Batman to see if Beetle is hero material. After getting a big head, but coming down off his high horse to eventually prove himself to Batman, the Blue Beetle is declared an official partner of Batman. I won't give you the play by play of every moment, because you should enjoy this episode when it premieres. If anyone really wants play by play, email me and I'll be happy to give you the full spoilers.

These are the guidelines for the Legions of Gotham collection board.
If you would like to post your collection, please host your images and post them here. You can host any collection that is close to your heart, it does not have to be limited to Batman, however, you need to keep all of your collections in one post. Keep updating the first post of the thread with your new images, rather than posting all throughout the thread.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me. And have fun! I look forward to seeing everyone's toys!
