[shadow=green,left,300]at SDCC over the weekend I'm told they finally confirmed that Cluemaster would be in the toon, which LoG exclusively broke the news about awhile ago, but a surprise is that Spellbinder will be in the show?! Veeeery interesting.....[/shadow]

[glow=Navy,2,300]Pah... I become sick that they have all the lame villains in the toon like Cluemaster, Hugo Strange and Spellbinder but that they don't say a word about Poison Ivy yet. It really makes me sick But maybe this show will make them more intersting when they have new designs [/glow]

Spellbinder, wasnt he in batman beyond? [glow=Navy,2,300]I have some feelings that Spellbinder will be a she. This toon has only two women with Catwoman and a detective. And it looks like we woun't see Ivy (see, I just can't stop talking about her) Also Spellbinder was a woman in the mainstream books (with a pink dress )[/glow]

Hugo is actually one of my fav 2nd tier Bat-bad guys.

[shadow=purple,left,300]I can't wait to see what this show does with Spellbinder. He may become a second-rate Scarecrow or what have you, but honestly, I have faith in this show. I also can't wait to see Hugo Strange in action as well. Especially since Frank Gorshin himself is the voice actor. As for Cluemaster- I still need to read up on him. [/shadow]

i suppose they need minor villains for the show cos they dont wanna rush all the fav bad guys into one season or else the whole idea of batman coming across these bad guys for the first time would be over in the first 13 episodes

Spellbinder?! Wow, that's one of the lamest villains from the comics (both the original male version and the new female version are cheesy). The BB one was cool visually though. Hmm, I suppose they'll re-envision the character for the new series, but c'mon. If they want to use second tier villains, go with Nocturna, General, Ratcatcher, Cavalier, or someone else with potential (see my site below). Spellbinder and Cluemaster are just too derivative of other Batman villains (namely Scarecrow and Riddler). Sheesh..who's next... Signalman? We'll see. I'll keep an open mind 'til I see them in the show. I assume it'll be a major re-boot of Spellbinder. PunkRockGirl

I did like the male version from BB - so if it is the same one, I wouldn't mind seeing it.

As Gambit alluded to, perhaps Spellbinder is based off the incarnation of Delbert Billings or his girlfriend, Fay Moffit. In the comics, Delbert was Spellbinder but refused Neron's offer to sell his soul for a power upgrade. His girlfriend shot him and took the name and power for herself. By using the Fay version, they'd be able to establish more female villains to perhaps draw in more of the female demographic?
