Just got done watching the JTV episode and it was pretty decent. Hearing Adam West as the Mayor is always a treat, and Putty from Sienfeld doing the voice of Detective Shades was pretty funny. I just kept thinking of "High Five"
The one thing that bothered me was when Shades and The Mayor were tied up in the steel rafters and about to take a 100 story nose dive, Detective Yin grabbed there line with one hand, holding the weight of probably close to 400lbs. Not very beliveable, but then she was about to slip and The Batman grabbed her and pulled them all up to safety.
I saw what I think was a little tribute to Todd McFarlane at the end of the episode when The Batman is standing on the rooftop in the distance and all you see is his siloutte, his cape flowing sideways, and the bats flying by, reminded me of a Batman comic book cover Todd did back in the early 90's

I think this was one (if not the best) Joker ep to date. It feels like they've finally accomplished what they set out do to with this version of Joker, psychotic, but also very playful and goofy.
Does anyone else think Joker's made some strides since "Bat in the Belfry"?

I missed it. I kept hearing that the new time is 8:30, so I tuned in at 8:30 and that wasn't it. Right now is the time that it usually would be on, but something else is on. Turns out over here in CA, "The Batman"'s new time probably was 7:30. !@#$, I'm having a bad day already with other stuff too. Curse you WB for the next time slot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a pretty funny episode. I laugh a little bit during some of the scenes with the Joker. Did anyone notice how the Joker said, "same Joker crime, same Joker channel", and the part where Batman fight on TV had a bit of the odies style music and fight? That was Pretty cool.

I think script-wise and animation-wise this was without a doubt one of the top episodes in the series thus far. Joker was SO on character in this ep, it was ridiculous! The action sequences seemed more fluid and better choreographed...and the style was a little grittier, especially around the joker's eyes...more jagged. I loved it!
I believe this one was written by Michael Jelenic, the same chap that wrote 'The Laughing Bat'. He's got a firm grasp on the Joker, thats for certain.
If you by chance come across this Michael, please drop us a line.
all in all I give it a 10

Unfortunately, I missed it too. Like I predicted, I slept right thru it, getting up at 9:00 today. I guess I'll catch it when Cartoon Network shows it eventually.
WB really needs to leave the schedule alone. First they screwed Jackie Chan up with juggling the schedule around, now The Batman.

Pretty good episode, if a bit derivative.
-- I'm curious as to why they're frontloading all these Joker episodes. I always feel it's important to maintain Joker as Bats' number one baddie but overexposure can have a tendency to water him down.
-- Not quite formulaic and I liked that Yin had a strong role to play.
-- The Cash character was actually kind of funny. Nice cameo by Patrick Warburton.

I agree that they are showing a bit much of The Joker, and what's funny is that after watching JTV yesterday morining I tuned in to Cartoon Network last night to watch The Batman and guess who was the villian....The Joker LoL
I don't mind The Joker at all, but too much can make you start to resent him in a way. I think with the slew of new villians that they have just added to the show and some of the older ones that they have from season one I think they have plenty to kind of spread out. Like I would love to see more Fire Fly.
But again JTV was a great episode, top notch writing, art work was amazing as usually. Great/Super/Awesome Job to the crew of The Batman!

I loved it! all in all I give it a 10 I have to agree. This was an excellent episode. "The Batman" Joker has developed with each episode. Before this ep I thought "The Laughing Bat" was the best Joker episode, but "JTV" is now my favorite. The nods to the old ABC show were subtle enough to be noticed by we old-timers, but not so much as to soak the entire episode in a warm bath of nostalgia. I would guess that most casual fans, and especially the kids, would not pick up on it at all - the edgy, modern tone of the series remained in place. Warburton did a great job as always - Cash Jenkinson was a hoot. However, at this point in the series I am itching for a new, original villian. I am really looking forward to characters like Ragdoll and Spellbinder; I still think this show will be even better when it creates new foes for the new Batman universe this series has created. One other side note: the musical soundtrack needs some new blood. It seems rather lazy to recycle the same themes over and over again. The series theme is great, but there needs to be more variety in the backing soundtrack. Not to kick a dead horse, but one of the great features of BTAS that wasn't always talked about was the backing musical soundtracks that were created specifically for each episode. It really helped to set the tone and setting for the story and characters, making each episode unique. Just a thought...

This is instantly one of my favorite episodes. Tho i too believe that the joker shouldn't be overexposed, isn't that why so many are annoyed by the penguin? One thing i really enjoy about the joker is that most his crimes work the first time and he could just work out the quirks and most likely get away with it, but he doesn't because no one likes a joke that's told too much. I really enjoy that about the character. I give this ep a very high ranking.
