It's awesome.. but some of it.. wow. All the blood that they show (for a toon) When the joker is in the Blood Bank.. it's kinda gross..
anyway, It ranks up there at the top. I'm really happy it's as good as it is.

[shadow=red,left,300]Yeah, I was really surprised by the amount of blood, especially the blood bank scene. It looked like Joker was taking a cue from the movie Carrie. I really did get a kick out of Vamp Joker...especially when he was captured by Batman. Going through withdrawls, screaming in pain, eating bugs..man, talk about dark. [/shadow]

yeah, it was all very morbid. i was surprised by the agony they put Joker through... i wouldn't have expected it to be so intense. OH, and i was very pleased to see that there was no real "kung fu" goin' on with Penguin OR Joker.. they were both pretty mellow as far as fighting goes ('cept for when Joker is a vamp, but that makes perfect sense). LOVED the SWAT chase... loved Dracula (overall, awesome character)... i dunno, the only thing that kinda bugged me were a few of the silly lines. some stuff was kinda cheesy, but other than that, it really was a great movie.

A few parts really reminded of the Blade movies. The blood bank and the end where Batman is going crazy with stabbing everyone with the cure he came up with.
I wonder if anything will be changed when it hits Cartoon Network?

I haven't got it yet, and it may not be as good on Cartoon Network, but from what you guys are saying, this is a must-have for any Batman fan.
All that's left is THE BATMAN STRIKES#15 and hopefully a Dracula figure for the THE BATMAN toyline.

A masterpiece! Thanks to Mr. Matsuda and the gang for delivering a Batman DTV that I could finally sink my teeth into (pun intended)! I could not find anything about Batman VS. Dracula that I can honestly say I did not like or thought was hokey! Great job guys. And thanks to you also Matt for providing all of us with the best Batman website and forum in the universe (or at least Gotham City)!!! Keep up the good work.

And don't forget to pick up that issue of Strikes, batfan. Now that you've seen the movie, you can see why I decided to set the comic fifteen minutes or so into the film. It'd be a bit tough involving Dracula in the story otherwise.
Glad you guys liked the movie. I still haven't seen it with music yet...

I'm kinda surprised that Cartoon Network is going to be airing it this week Saturday during the Toonami block. I wish they would have released the gift set at the same time as the DVD though, I was bummed when I opened the DVD to see that they are going to release the movie with the two figurines next month...I could have waited had I known. Oh well...having a Batman marathon...Talk about SuperHero Tuesday! Batman Begins, Batman Anthology, Batman VS Dracula, Batman serial, Superman TV series and The Mask of Zorro!

I really enjoyed it and am more than happy to own it. Im sure it will see repeat viewings in my own over time.
If this were just another episode of the show, I would consider it probably the best one I've seen and my personal fave!. And I'm not a big fan of vampires (especially Dracula lol) nor am I particularly fond of Batman tales involving such supernatural characters. But I really enjoyed it and thought it was better in every way than the regular toon.
That being said, just like the reg toon, I did find some of the dialog to be "hit and miss" in spots but nothing as all together "off" or "dopey" as with a typical episode (just nit picking).
The animation/art/look was Beautiful! The fight scenes / action was as usual very well done and awesome! (something I also consider common about this show).
The music couldve / shouldve been "pumped up" a bit in my opinion though? Something different wouldve been really nice and perhaps more appropriate than the standard tunes? (I dont think I heard anything new at least?). Maybe its just me but the norm music for this show has gotten "tired" and doesnt appeal to me or appear very dramatic.
The voice acting was fine as usual but am I the only one that found the Joker sounded a little "off"? As if the actor perhaps had a touch of the flu or something? (not a "bad" performance Etc. just an observation) Intended or not, I think it worked for the vamped version of Joker.
In the end, I classify this as the best of The Batman Ive seen!

Just saw it on CN, and I loved it as much as Begins. I would give it a 10, but because of Joker and Penguin still being overused: 8/10.
Joker was great in this. Just when you thought he couldn't get any crazier, he's robbing blood banks. Dracula must have done something different with him, he was pretty weak and loved being covered in blood. Plus in the begining, come on. We've seen him come back from worse. Right?
I liked how Vicki was put in this. She actually someone Bruce was falling in love with, instead of his playboy act. I thought they could've had a better ending, like having Vicki telling Bruce that she figured it out.
I also saw some other movie comparisons to this: MOTP- Batman being accused of something and being attacked the police. BATMAN- Villain wants Vicki. FOREVER- Falling down into the cave.
Now, Jeff Matsuda, for the next DTV movie, how about something like "THE BATMAN BEGINS." I think everyone here would love to see an origin story for THE BATMAN. You haven't really told the origin fully, so why not tell the whole story. Think about it Jeff.

Just watched the last 35 minutes of this and it wasn't too shabby, like I have always stated we could do without so much penquin and The Joker, and for some reason Dracula reminded me alot of Ras Ah Ghul, I might have to go and buy this DVD to catch the entire film.
Vicki Vale was a plus, and it's about time she popped up, and I liked the flash back to Bruce falling down the hole and a glimpse into his past and what happened to his parents.
The best was the end when Dracula was like Bruce Wayne and Batman responded with The Batman! ! !

I love this movie. To me next to Batman: Mask of Phantasm, The Batman vs. Dracula is the 2nd best animated Batman film I have seen. Loved the flashbacks. Dracula was a great villian. Joker was awesome. Good to see Vicki Vale, I wish she would go the animated series. Don't let her be a one time appearance. Bring on another The Batman movie!!! I do like the idea of an earlier post of an animated The Batman origin film. I give this movie definately..... ProfessorH!

Hey Guys, I really hope that you enjoy the DVD. We had fun working on it. I look forward to any questions and comments you might have. Even critical thoughts are welcome. Thanks, Thomas PS- I really look forward to reading Matthew's comic. I really can't wait to check out the comic as well! It'll be great to get some fill-in story! I got the DVD last monday from WB, but didn't get around to watching it until Thursday. I have to say that my initial reaction when I heard about this film being produced over a year ago was mixed. I was excited to see more The Batman...but leary of the whole "dracula" bit....especially with so many great rogues and arcs to visit in the Batman universe...... ......that being said, I really did enjoy this film. Thomas, your Dracula design was fantastic. I'd love to know where you drew inspiration for his human form? The animation quality was higher, the dialogue seemed more relaxed...I'm convinced now that the Batman could be twice as good a show if it were allowed an hour time slot for each episode...things sometimes feel rushed on the show, so I think with that hour, the crew could really delve into things... ...anyhow, I enjoyed the sight of blood...the upped violence level and the direct references to death. Thats just the 12 year old in me, lol. Vicky Vale was masterfully portrayed by our pal Tara Strong (Batgirl in TNBA/ Raven in TT), who incidentally, is one of my favorite female voice talents. She's an absolute chameleon...although I could really tell it was her in this role. The look inside Arkham was great. and although seeing Wesker was nice, I would've enjoyed seeing more peeks at known villains. The intensity of the Arkham guards was nice. All in all, the film impressed me. I give it a 9/10 *********************** The get a DVD free deal is for one of the Batman Beyond episode discs. See Below... click each image to enlarge

[shadow=green,left,300]The movie was great. Some cheesy lines like when Vicky Vale was like "Master... take my soul"... I hope they come out with an unrated version like they did with the Batman Beyond movie. I thought that when Dracula died at the end where he just burst into flames, that was a little fast. Then again, it was a kid's movie and kids might get freaked out if they showed his skin blistering and burning, eventually different parts of his body would alight, until he was finally a burning screaming corpse. But I really loved it... I wonder if they would make a movie about Joker's origin... I always wanted to see that in BTAS or TNBA... but they never did. And Tim Burton's "BATMAN" movie wasn't really discriptive. Oh well. I hope we see movie movie's about the adventures of THE BATMAN!!! [/shadow]

[shadow=green,left,300]I've more to add... The Joker was a great vampire... I don't think they should've used the Penguin... he's overused (Joker can't be over used, he's Joker... ;D) I think that it would've been interesting to see a less common villain be Dracula's "crypt keeper" because I can't see Penguin, a very distinguished Cobblepot, serving someone... ("I AM A COBBLEPOT, AND COBBLEPOTS DO NOT SERVE!") Maybe someone like Riddler, or perhaps Bane could've been an interesting choice for a crypt keeper (cuz Riddler is excellent at hand-to-hand combat with his staff and Bane is just all power.)[/shadow]

You think Bats will put Drac's skull in the trophy room? It would be a cool additon.
This was kind of bothering me, but when does this take place? Between seasons, or during one?

I just realized I haven't even commented on this movie yet. Well, I've always enjoyed the design choices that they've made for this show and this movie was no exception. I thought Dracula looked great in all his many incarnations. I loved the way his cloak would open to points when he was in the air. Very fun stuff.
As far as the story goes, I loved the SWAT team scene and was very surprised by the dark tone of the cartoon. Also, Vicki is a great addition to the series and was fun to work with. I still haven't seen the completed version of the film, but I'm waiting for the gift set, myself.
Anyway, congrats to all involved and I look forward to a few more of these DTVs.

That was a great DTV! I loved the animation in it. The shots of Batman swinging around Gotham were amazing and the fight sequences are great. And you guys are right that Vamped up Joker at the blood bank was freaky... My lil brother was kinda disturbed with all the blood haha. Great story and I loved how you got to see Batman use his intelligence. I give it a 9/10!
Oh yeah.. One question for ya'll for those who watched it in CN and watched the dvd was there any difference? I just watched the CN one cuz I wanna wait till November to get the PVC set.

Taped the CN version and wrapped up watching it a few minutes ago.
Two words...Insanely Amazing
The animation was great. Voice work great. Just all around goodness to be had. I loved the increase in violence and gore. Joker was really something in this DTV, i can't put my finger on it but he really stood out to me more than usual. Dracula was fantastically done and Mr. Stormare was wonderful. (i love prisonbreak so this was a treat as well having him there).
I loved the bloodbank scene. Very Blade-ish. And it was nice seeing Bruce's concern for Joker.

IT was alright but nothing great. I liked the animation but this whole Dracula thing was to dumb. I hated the concept to begin with and it just didn't seem very Batman-ish.
I don't know why for every batman animated movie we have to come up with these new villians. Why not have one just starting the Joker, or Riddler or someone? That would be alot better than Dracula, or that girl in MOTP.
Hopefully for the next DVD we can get somethin like that.
