Well, I'm glad to hear Freeze will be returning along with Ivy.
I'm not getting to excited yet for this new episode. They kind of threw me off this week making us think it Cash For Toys or Brawn. Plus, it's more Joker. Joker's great, but some other villains need some time to shine more.

Joker? Again? It seems like his episodes are becoming less and less original. They haven't done anything cool with the character since Strange Minds. Maybe it is like Mr. Capizzi said, that they were trying to do things differently from B:TAS. That Joker was done extremely well. This must be the goal, to make a Joker that wasn't that great. I love DCU's Joker stories. His origin, Harley Quinn, the Creeper, BB's Jokerz, Mask of the Phantasm, Return of the Joker are all classics to me. Not to mention Mark Hamill's voice was spot on. The Batman has deluted the character.

This is the same post we've seen a hundred times...but it fails to explain WHY you don't care for the Joker in this show. Comparing it to BTAS doesn't really show us your perspective. Yes, its different....I think we've established that by now. But, if you're going to slam on something, at least give a detailed reason as to why. That said, I do agree that we've seen too much of Mr. J this season. I'm looking forward to more new rogues, like Toymaker and Maxie Zeus.

I really enjoy the Joker in The Batman. As well as Joker in BTAS. Each are cool in their own way.
What I like about Joker in The Batman is he seems to just go with the flow and lives for the moment. Kind of makes him that much more crazy.

Yes diluted. And you jumped to a conclusion as well Matt. I prefer TB's Riddler so much. I love the Clayface for this one as well. I understand that the two are different. I am happy that I have gotten to see two animated interpretations of Joker. So then I'll get to why this Joker has struck me the wrong way. I will start with Brawn. In other episodes, Joker was a physical fight for Batman. So when Joker was free from the Bane serum, he wouldn't have went down with one punch like he did. Next I will go into A Night in the City. I liked this episode, but Joker (being Batman's all time greatest nemesis) couldn't get the upper hand. Joker is supposed to be a psychotic genius. That is how he is done best. This Joker has not proven to me that he is all that smart, but has been overdone on the psychotic part. It takes a great balance between the two. There you go Matt, the reason I don't like this Joker as much as the other one is because I don't think that this one is smart enough.

I totally agree. The Joker from "The Batman" is a nuttier version, devil may care and not so "take care of bussiness" as he way represented in TAS. My issue is that I'm afraid he will be over used and people will tire of him. Matt said it best, let us miss him for a while.

In other episodes, Joker was a physical fight for Batman. So when Joker was free from the Bane serum, he wouldn't have went down with one punch like he did. Good point. But maybe he was drained and/or exhausted by the rapid withdraw and removal of the Venom serum and that made him easily defeated.

I like that this show offers so many interesting team-ups... I mean Freeze/Firefly, Penguin/Manbat... say what you will about this show, but in 10 years people looking back might not say "remember how soulful they made Mr.Freeze" but WILL say "wait... am I imagining things or was there some cartoon where Joker stole Bane's tubey-thing?!" and that my friends, is not that bad a legacy
So will my theory prove correct: (the Batman's Joker= Awesome) + (Gina Gershon=Badass) = Awesomely Badass?! or will that episode be sorta a let down like "Brawn".... only time will tell, I can't wait!!
and Freeze teams up with Penguin?! I wonder: will he be creating a winter wonderland for Penguin's pets... OR will he reveal to Ozzy he's adopted and that Freeze is in fact his brother, HIS TWIN BROTHER! (seriously, a Twins reference it's obvious! if they don't make one I'll be sad)
I wonder what the future will hold! (c'mon Freeze/Ivy... maybe Bane if he feels like... I got $5 ridding on this show doing it's own versions of the movies and I'm 2/3... until Two-Face shows up, then I'm 2/4... until Scarecrow and Ra's shows up then I'm 2/5... until Batman Begins 2 then I'm 2/6... man, this is a hard bet to win) What will the future holds

[shadow=purple,left,300]I don't know. I wouldn't say the Joker episodes are becoming less original as much as I would say the writers are trying new things. I do think some of the Joker episodes are stale, and that his character has been dumbed down; But, I think the creative team is trying new approaches to the character. And with tampering with a character like the Joker, there's bound to be negative and positive outcomes.
Hopefully "The Laughing Cats" turns out to be a winner.[/shadow]
