I just read Hush: volume one! Let me start by saying that the art, if nothing else, was fabulous, IMO. I thought the story, overall, was pretty good. The problem for me was that I found the beginning, where Batman's Batrope is severed, and he falls to the ground, sustaining brain injuries, to be unrealistic and unappealing in a number of ways. Firstly, I hate the idea of Batman ever needing help like that. Also, I don't think his getting hurt that severely was necessary. They even compared it to his broken back in Knightfall, the worst injury he has ever suffered, and the only one that bad that he should ever suffer throughout the official continuity. However, this wouldn't be as big a deal with me if they had taken more time with it and driven home how serious it was. I didn't find it very dramatic at all, and if it was as serious as a broken back, which I don't think it should've been, it should have been quite dramatic. It just seems to me that the only thing his fall and injuries accomplished was introducing Thomas Elliot, and showing his apparent dedication to Bruce. (The reason I say "apparent is that I have a suspition that he might be Hush, if it's not really Jason, but anyone who knows, please don't tell me in response to this; I want to be surprised. ;D) Other than my problem with the whole "fall" thing, which I've been ranting about for half the post( ;D), I really enjoyed Hush volume one, thought it was very well done, and can't wait for volume two, which I hear is due later this month! A great read; I give it an 8.5/10, and I'm guessing it will get even better in the remaining volumes.

Oh, I have a question, too. Does anyone know if Hush volume two is the final volume, or is there more? Thanks.

I think Volume 2 is the end of the series. But would be grateful for some details for my web site either from you or other visitors in regards to Hush. I only buy the comics, not the TPB's but would like to know what comics went into Hush Voolume 1, and a list of those in Volume 2. I need to add them into the database. www.rasalghul.co.uk/database/tpbs_details.asp?id=250Thanks in advance. W

Volume one of Hush contained the first five chapters of Hush, although I'm not sure which issues they were originally printed in. However, I can tell you that Chapter 1 is called "The Ransom," when Croc kidnaps a boy for ransom, Catwoman steals the Ransom for Ivy, and Batman falls, 2 is "The Friend," when Huntress saves him from gangsters when he's down from the fall, and Thomas Elliot saves his life medically, 3 is "The Beast," about Croc and Batman's romance with Catwoman, 4 is "The City." in which he goes to Metropolis, and discovers Superman is under Ivy's control, and 5 is "The Battle," in which Batman fights Superman. At the beginning of the book is Loeb and Lee's version of "The Batman: Who He Is and How He Came To Be," which is quite good. It's a very good storyline, all in all.

I thought Hush was was a great fun extended Batman story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if I did pick who was behind it by about half way through. Still that never diminished my enjoyment of it, and I wasn't absolutely positive.
Never understood why so many fans seemingly had a problem with this storyline and decried it so much...guess it was just the usual anti-hype to a large degree.

I picked up both Hardcover copies a couple of months ago.I hadn't read any of it previously and went purely on recommendations from people here. I love it quite simply, although i don't think we have heard the last of this arc. There are questions to still be answered IMO,the ending was just a bit too neat.

I read Hush and enjoyed, and I think the art is wonderful, Lee did a great job on this book, and I think we will see a continuation on this book from Loeb and Lee in the near future, as there are many questions still unanswered in the book.

After Lee is done with Superman (which will hopefully be soon, as the story has been crap) they are set to do a 6 issue follow-up.

Thanks for that. Anyone know if the online bit is still available anywhere? I just found it online at ddcomics.com. There is a section of the site all about Hush, which there should be a link for on the front page, and it has a link to "exclusive pages," which are the online origin pages. Hope that helps. On another note, has anyone seen the Hush softcovers' cover art? I think it's amazing. I have vol. 1 in softcover format, and usually I would want something like this in hardcover, but the art on the covers of the paperbacks is amazing! Just thought I'd mention how good the art is. For me, a hardcover kind of guy, it's worth getting softcover when the cover art is that great!

Well, I bought and read vol. 2 today, and I'm still pondering it. I think it would have been too cool if Hush was JT, but at least they left that open, possibly to deal with later, or just let the fans decide for themselves what happened. It's probably better if it stays a mystery. As for the rest of the story, It was good, IMO. The art was great all the way through, and I was not expecting Tommy's real motive. Ra's was cool, as was Joker, although there was bit more Catwoman than I would have liked, but just a bit. I enjoyed this arc, and thought it was really cool. I just hope more info comes out in later issues, which i know it will. As was said earlier, we surely haven't seen the last of this arc!

Anybody know what that six-page story from Wizard 0 is about? I asked before, but maybe no one saw my post. [shadow=bue,left,300]It involes Catwoman and Bats in the batcave while Alfred is tending to Bats injuries. It appears to me to be charcter development between the cat and bat. It IS included in the Hush TPB and HB. Hope this helps. [/shadow]
