Sorry about the spoliers matt. ;D No big deal - as long as someone is reading it in this forum, they are aware that the post might contain spoilers. It's when they view it using the 10 most recent posts that it might be an issue. There's not as much warning when looking at it that way.

With all the possible "red herrings" is it also possible that it could be the Amazo android controlled by Luthor?

Why wait or issue 7, when Issue 6 came out and revealed the killer...and what the league did to the bat?
And all I have to say is...YEAH! Nightwing is cleared!!!

I dont think its Ray. We, the readers, are meant to think its Ray. I dont know much about mystery books but movies do this kind of thing all the time. Usually its just a shady character in the movie that has the means, the will, and even a motive and yet it turns out to be the guy you didnt expect.
Look at HUSH. First I though HUSH was Tommy Elliot (made sense, he was the New character), then I thought it was Two-Face, and then I actually thought is was Jason Todd, back from the dead. Turns out my first guess was right.

Popular guess seems to be it was a mind-controlled Ray, either by the Top or Mirror Master....who knows...

[shadow=blue,left,300]Just read #6 and all I can think to say is simply....WOW!
Over the last two issues of this series I have found myself on the brink of shedding a tear over the anguish many of our favorite characters are going through. And I am NOT an emotional person, especially from reading!
By far, the most exciting and shocking arc I have read in years!
I am with a few of you in that I do not believe all is what it seems after #6, but I am CLUELESS on what to think about what is to come in #7! I cannot wait to see how this ends! [/shadow]

[shadow=green,left,300]what about Zatanna's mind wiping...could that have transfered the negative portions of the villians mind into some of the heroe's minds?
just a goofy thought
I definately think the atom is a red herring. However, I do also feel that IC will sow seeds of distrust throughout all the 'super teams'...I think they will fall apart in time.[/shadow]

I missed the first issue but my local comicbook shop owner has a second prinitng put aside for me which I plan to pick up today. I've been buying all the other issues but I've been refraining from reading them untill I pick up number one which hasnt been easy. I plan to go today to pick it up and once I read it I'll be sharing my thoughts with you guys right here in this thread.

Yeah, the Atom just seems too obvious a suspect right now, but why the footsteps?
I personally wanted to see Batman hurt some people before Zatanna stopped him, and I still can't believe that the league would completely bypass Supes and Batman on a vote to do something like that. They explained counting them out like little kids would explain counting out the parents in a vote to launch Bobby over a lake in a bungie-cord slingshot.

My opinion...someone (Top?) was in Atom controlling him...and has been the whole story... Atom is in there himself, but has not been able to communicate with everyone. He has very little control, and fought it enough to leave the footprints. Why? Because he knew Batman or someone WOULD catch that, and take care of it at any cost.
My 10cents.

I also think that Ray is far to obvious. I feel that Calculator lied to Meryln he knew damn well that Digger was going to get hit.

LOL!! Directly from Lying in the Gutters (the best rumor column I've seen in years BTW!) here is the latest IDC rumor/theory. It really cracked me up - now, if it's true, I don't think I'll be laughing.... For more rumors, including some speculation on Dreamwave going the way of Crossgen, check here: www.comicbookresources.com/columns/?column=13

Um, wait a minute... now my hampster's movin!..... "Jericho Wilson says...."... JERICHO last I remember he shot Impulse after taking over dear old dad's body (Deathstroke)...he has THAT power and also, got himself plenty of axes to grind and something to prove! Especially now with the intro of the new Ravager?! taking his place / living up to dady's expectations! huh? huh? just cant remember where he "left off" in Titans/ Young Justice? possible? or am I reaching? hhmmmm?

hmmm.. possible I suppose. Always a way to make pretty much anything work if they wanted too. But I personally doubt this scenario. I am still curious / looking at Jericho. Especially now the more I read, hear and reflect, the more I see a consistant and dominant "fathers and sons" theme running through the story. I hope the whole Nightwing=killer concept has been squashed. Strangely thought I like the "idea" of him being capable of pulling it off Etc. I would be beyond unhappy if his character and history were sacrificed for the sake of shock value or gimick. Certainly any theory could be possible no matter how for reaching. And ts not like any such story in this form of media can be rationalized or decyphered through real world logic.

[shadow=blue,left,300]Spoiler Question
OK, I haven't picked IC up yet but I've read that the Justice League mindswiped Batman. What was the reason?[/shadow]
|
|
|
Post by Batlaw on Dec 8, 2004 23:19:21 GMT -5
Gotham95: It was done due to the fact Batman aggressively disapproved of the League's "mindswiping" of the criminal(s) and was appossing them. Great scene BTW

I haven't read much of this thread due to spoilers, so forgive me if this has already been answered, but what, pray tell, is mindswiping?

[shadow=blue,left,300]Thanks batlaw. I think I'll get the eventual TPB on this one and
Hush, I think Mindswiping was refering to erasing the last 10 minutes of memory.[/shadow]

HUSH: "Mindswiping" isnt the actual term, just the concept of what was in essence done in the story. I.E. mind altering. Spoiler?... ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' the Justice League of old had essentially erased certain "memories" or knowledge from certain criminals minds such as some heros secrets, secret identity and the like. Also altering those criminals behavior and such. Make sense?

LOL, believe it or not Hush, yeas they did! If I remember it correctly, Flash (Wally) had a pretty tough time accepting / believing it too! "they did it to Batman too?, but he's...he's... BATMAN!"
