[shadow=green,left,300]Hey guys! I was talking to Matt Wagner (grendel) and he mentioned to me something that I think may be news to us all! I for one am VERY excited and will anticipate this series big time![/shadow]
hey man,
.....You know I'm working on a 12 issue stand-alone Batman series that'll be
released next year around the same time as the movie, yeah?
Its title is Dark Moon Rising but I jokingly refer to the working title
as Year 1.5.

Hey guys! I was talking to Matt Wagner (grendel)  Holy of holies...Matt Wagner?! I think if i had the opportunity to talk to him, I'd just babble and drool all over myself! If it happens to come up in conversation...What else is planned for the 25th anniversary in 2007? Any more news on the Grendel movie? I know that WB is involved and that the movie (as it stands now) is going to focus on Christine Spar, instead of Hunter Rose. Hey...waitaminute - Hunter - that's one of my kids names...hmmm ;D Yes, I am a fanboy geek! I'd love to see an interview with Mr. Wagner. Please? Maybe I should shut up now - before I scare him and make him think I'm a stalker.... ;D For those not familiar with this god among men, Matt Wagner has created Mage and Grendel, worked on The Demon, was the writer on Sandman Mystery Theater, and handled both the writing and the art on the Faces Two-face story (all these fans of Two-face that we have here - I'd hope all of them have read this book!) and of course my fav 2 characters in one book, Batman/Grendel. |

Oh yes - I'm quite the fanboy! Grendel was actually my first choice for a tattoo. I just haven't found the "right" picture yet. ;D The guys at Liquid Courage did my Reideen, so I'll probably just end up there with them doing an original design again. Here's my current background...  Unfortunately, I don't have those issues - I mainly stick to Hunter, Christine and Prime. I'm familiar with the other issues (IMO 4 devils, one hell is incredible!) but just haven't put the $ out to pick them all up yet. Have you read the Past Prime novel by Greg Rucka? If not, you can borrow mine if you'd like to! I really enjoyed it - I'd like to see more...hint hint! |

While the offshoots are fun, I too enjoy the primary characters best...though my favs are Brian Li Sung and Eppy Thatcher!

this is something ive been looking forward to from the moment that i first heard about it. wagner is great and i really like stories revolving around batman's early years. im sure it'll be awesome! by the way, there was something at newsarama a while ago about it, somehwat of an interview. so for anyone whose interested, heres the link. im not sure if its just with me, but the page takes a while to load, however once it does, its good stuff. www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=389373-BDG |
