Well we all saw the action figures! I haven't gotten to it yet, but I couldn't resist the spoiler! Does this issue give any hints about who will become the Black Hand? Hopefully it's not Kyle!

I don't think so but all these dead guys are suddenly back. IMO Kyle is very much a mature GL character and, while I really don't care all that much about John or Guy I hope we continue to see more of Kyle. I've always liked him.

If you missed #1, you still have a chance to get one -
Just two weeks after arriving in stores, GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH #1 Third Printing has sold out, setting the stage for an unprecedented fourth printing by DC Comics!
GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH #1 Fourth Printing — written by Geoff Johns with art by Ethan Van Sciver and sporting a recolored version of Van Sciver's cover art from the issue's second printing — is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 5.
"This is just what I wanted for Christmas: a fourth printing of REBIRTH #1," says Van Sciver. "Is this how Jimmy Stewart felt at the end of It's a Wonderful Life? He never got to draw Kilowog, so I've got to believe I'm happier. Thanks to each and every retailer, fan, and especially DC Comics for their continued support of our hard work on this miniseries. And extra special thanks from me to Geoff Johns for writing his heart out on this. The best is yet to come!"

Hey, is this the issue where John Stewart walks up and explains to everyone that he's the only relevant GL, and that only a small number of geeks even know who Kyle or Hal are? You know since he's had three seasons of the Justice League cartoon which were seen by millions across America and the world, much more of an impact than the comics featuring Hal or Kyle. Not to mention all of the merchandise based around that success. No? Then I'm not buying it. Green Lantern's a black man.

yup John(personality bypass)Stewart is waaay better than Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner thats why GREEN LANTERN:REBIRTH 1# went to an unprecendented 4th printing because of Johns popularity also it was probably the reason everybody went nuts that Hal/Kyle wasnt in the cartoon and there was that much compalining about Stewart that Hal had to be included in the opening credits........

Just read #'s 1 and 3. Cant wait to read more! I kick myself for not jumping on this since I used to be a pretty loyal GL reader for a while. Now I like to keep up on major events such as this but slipped. Gotta say so far its pretty cool, some nice art and good writting. Not sure how its ultimately gonna turn out, could be a lame? but I'm glad to see Hal in the flesh again.

Kyle seperated his head from his body and sent the head flying off into space. He left the body on the moon. ;D Somehow, I don't think this is the last we'll see of Major Force!

Just FYI:
Geoff Johns (JSA, Teen Titans) is rumored to be working on a second ongoing Green Lantern series that will spotlight the Green Lantern Corps led by John Stewart.
This is probably the Green Lantern series that Dave Gibbons has been working on for the last few months and will be released to coincide with the new Hal Jordan Green Lantern ongoing series by Johns, Pacheco and Van Sciver.
DC wanted a second GL series to capitalize on Geoff John’s successful re-launch of the title, and to offer John Stewart fans (especially those who know him from the animated series) a book of their own.
No mention of Kyle Rayner though…

This Sunday on Fanboy Radio, writer Geoff Johns announced that Darwyn Cooke would be illustrating the lead story in April’s Green Lantern Secret Files 2005.
As Johns said: “Normally- when they said they were doing a Green Lantern: Secret Files, I was very skeptical because I don't really want to do a lot of Green Lantern product unless it is going to be really high quality." “So I worked with Steve Wacker who's the editor on it and talked about the story, a very character-based story. And I said the only guy who could draw this is Darwyn Cooke. And Darwyn Cooke said yes. It's totally going help bridge the gap, I guess, between New Frontier and modern day DCU Green Lantern book. If you're a fan of Hal Jordan from New Frontier I think you'll be a fan of this book."
The announcement of the Secret Files would suggest that the new Green Lantern series, by Johns, Carlos Pacheco, Jesus Merino, and Alex Sinclair will begin in May.

It looks like Kyle will be involved with the upcoming Rann/Thanagar War miniseries. No word on where he'll end up after that.

I've actually gotten every issue Matt. I've been really pleased with it. Hal's back, Sinestro's back, the Parallax entity is kind of hokey but, I'll give 'em the benefit of making the best they could out of what they had to work with. The fact that it (partially) leads into the Rann/Thanagar War is an added bonus for me, since I'm a Adam Strange fan.

Matt i believe this series is well worth my money. When i got into comics it was because of all the graphic novels of green lantern that i bought. I slowly began to like kyle but my interest in GL was decreasing, they could never seem to settle on one to have in the jla for more than a few months. BUT now that hal's back, GL is back to the top with my favorites.
my top 3 favorites: 1. Bats and GL 2. Martian manhunter 3. the question and nightwing

I just finished #1...and I'm quite intrigued. I've stayed away from most of the spoilers, but I'll have to get #2 - #5 now pretty quickly to catch up.
Are there any issues that are difficult to find, or have they re-printed them all by now?
Hell, I got #1, 4th printing! geez!

Quite honestly, I'd wait for the TPB if I were you. IIRC, it should be out in a month or two and would probably be less expensive than trying to hunt down individual issues. If you can't wait, (shame on you for not listening to me btw) I know issue 2 has gone to at least it's 2nd printing and perhaps issue 3 as well.
