I really liked this comic, it was great seeing Bruce, Dick and Alfred together again in the manor just talking and reflecting on the events of War Games. I really liked it when Alfred said it's just the three of us again, and to be honest I hope this is how it is going to be for a long time.
I cannot stand the extended Bat-Family, get rid of these characters and have Batman and Nightwing again for a good run.
The whole Spoiler (Stephanie) death thing seems a bit familar, and I hope they don't drag it out that long, but knowing Bruce he is going to let this eat at him just like Jason's death will always haunt him.

My Bat-family:
Batman Nightwing Robin Alfred Batgirl Oracle
Don't really need any more. I think those 6 are the only ones needed. They have all more than earned their place....Tim is (and remember, mind you, that Nightwing is my favorite character) the best Robin, Cassies is a more useful Batgirl than the self-doubting conflicted Babs was, and with Oracle on your side...what else would you need. Also, Nightwing is sorta of a second-in command/replacement leader for the group that EVERYONE looks up to.

i agree with what both of you have said. im not a big fan of the 1000+ members in the bat squad. id much rather it be simplied to just batman and robin with of course alfred. but if others have to be added in, then id go with the few that jotaese suggested, and thats it! lol. as for the issue itself, much like det #800 it served as a nice wrap up. some liked war games while others didnt. but either way its over, so enough already. im really looking forward to winnick's run at the batman title starting with his under the hood arc in late dec. and ill definitely be picking up the first chapter of city of crime tmorrow, which wil span over a year in detective -BDG

Detective has been the worst Bat Title for quite some time. I am hoping the new arc manages to improve it, as it desperately needs it.

Detective Comics # 801 had me thinking, what is the purpose of this issue? And I agree with you on Detective, it has been a horrible Bat title for some time, and I hope it gets better. I think they need to add more of a Sci-Fi/Horror feel to it somehow, and really take some of these second and third rate villians and use the correctly. And Detective Comics should only be a Batman only comic, no Robin or other extended Bat-Family members allowed!
I have mixed feelings about Bat-girl, any bat-girl, for some reason I have never liked the character, it might just be me.

I can see that some, but Detective should be a DETECTIVE title, as Bats is the #1 DEtective. I personally don't mind appearances by others, but Hush, the biggest Bat mystery recently, should have been in DETECTIVE. Not the crap stories with Green Lantern and others that have been in there for years.
