That when something is going on in DC, a lot of the time people have been thinking Nightwing? Who's the IC killer? Nightwing. Who is on the cover of the Previews? Nightwing. Who is gonna die to effect Batman? Nightwing. People are having a lot of suspicions to do with Nightwing lately.
I don't see DC killing or doing anything THAT negative to one of their major characters...especially one that's toys fly off the shelves (no comic store in my state that I could find was able to keep a Hush Nightwing in stock...my shop got 7 sets of the Hush toys and EVERY Nightwing is gone...glad I got a whole set from him). Someone they have let be built up in a mjor reaching story (say what you want about 93-100, but DEvin has managed to tear down and rebuild Nightwing to a point where I think he will be coming back stronger and bigger than ever...he has his own major crisis, and will come through a stronger character.) Also, why do a YEar One when you are gonna do that?
I think 'Wing is going to be a MAJOR player in DC starting next year, but not because he is dead or because he is a villian...but because of who he is.
One of my favorite Bat-things was in the first issue of JLA: Obsidian Age. Batman is talking to the new assembled Justice League (Jason Blood, Major Disaster, Green Arrow, Atom, Hawgirl, Faith, etc) and says "If you have a problem with it, I don't care. Take it up with your new leader-Nightwing. He is the best-the only one I could have chosen to lead you." It's true...and with how big of a wing fan I am I'll admit brought a happy tear to my eye.
So...I personally feel 'Wing is safe.
