So today I bought 4 issues of deathstrokes series which had an encounter with batman and he bested him by beating the crap out of batman!! So I wanted to know, when was his first meeting with batman? I know know batman bested him back, but what issues? And how did batman got his sword?

the Deathstroke issues you mention, is when they first fought each other. i imagine they knew of each other but never really crossed paths. Deathstroke was always a Titans villain and has a longer history and a better feud with Nightwing than he does with Batman. Batman gets his sword when they fight for the second and last time in Detective Comics #'s 708-710.
