What was the first Batman comic book image to really make an impression on you. I say comic book because, for example, I (being an old f@rt) first encountered pictures of Batman on the classic lunchbox and on record jackets long before I owned my first Batman comic. Anyway, I know that this was not the first Batman book I owned as a kid but it certainly had one of the the biggest impacts on me. This classic Adams pose replaced the more static Infantino pose, that was stamped on the bottom of the Corgi Batmobile, as the definitive Batman. After getting it I remember begging my parents (who actually gave in) to buy me yet another Mego Batman to go along with the book. Next morning it was in my room when I woke up. I also remember my dad telling me to take good care of it because it was a limited collectors edition. Good memories.

The one that really got me hooked was the cover for Death in the Family. I was somewhat into Batman and Robin before that, but once Death in the Family came out and I saw that cover I was very intriqued. In fact, my recent urge to get back into the Batman universe was because I was at a used book store and came across Death in the Family and the cover brought back a lot of memories so I decided to start looking into Batman again and here I am.

The one that really got me hooked was the cover for Death in the Family. Me too. I had been a Batman fan since being a child, but that cover was very emotional.

The panel in Identity Crisis when Batman is holding Tim Drake over the body of his father.

Batdan, I remember the Batman Family cover. I never completely understood the need for the "family" titles in the 70s but now I really miss 'em. I also really liked those Batman and Robin covers.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Batfam, especially early on, when it was a mix of new and old. Liked the Batgirl/Robin storylines and the first blossoming of their relationship.

I gotta tell ya, campy or not, the '60s were a goldmine, coverwise. Often the stories didn't measure up, but there were some great cover concepts and art. Of course, I'm talking post-New Look here.

The first Batman comic that I had I can't remember the title, but I believe it was the story-line after the death of Jason Todd.. I remember that Batman was on an all out butt kick, and Alfred had called in Nightwing to talk some sense into Bruce. The first graphic novel I owned was "Red Rain:Batman vs. Dracula" That was a very cool story. Also, I never got to look through it, but I remember seeing a Batman comic that showed a woman in a wedding dress and some-one that looked like Comish Gordon lying across her lap, and they both were covered in blood, and I remember the bride had this "I'm gonna kill who ever did this" look on her face.

i think one of the best Batman covers of all time (and one of the greatest arcs) was LOTDK # 17. "Venom" pt. 2. Batman with an insane look on his face. fantastic.

I still have my very first Batman comic book (it was a local edition). I loved that story. I love Jim Aparo.

I remember I had a few comic books i always seemed to read over and over again when I was about 10. One was a cover with Batman chained up at a circus, penguin standing next to him. The other one's cover had been ripped off, and the first page was Batman remembering the death of Jason todd. It was an updated picture of batman carrying a very bloody dead body of Jason todd. That image above all had an effect on me, I was only about 10, but the image struck me as really gritty and hardcore.

Most memorable images, Batman punching Superman during Death in the Family. Splash page of Batman hunched over during DKR. An old Fleetway cover of Batman and Ra's all in red.
