Yeah, the first store I went to was out of 'mates. They opened at 10am and I was there at 1pm, so it took 3 hours for them to be gone. They were on their third package/box of heroclix too and had started limiting how many people could take. I just grabbed a handful and put them in my bag. Good thing I ordered a bag of 'mates for customs or I'd have missed out on them entirely. My wife and I split up since I was waiting for a few signatures and a sketch. She took the kids to another store and they had some 'mates there, so everybody got a couple, plus I got my bag. I went right when they opened, apparently they might have not even ordered them!

I was in line for about 45 minutes, but it was TOTALLY worth the wait!! I ended up with 4 signed comics (Nightwing #107, Green Arrow #'s 43, 44 and 45 - the HIV and 1st App of the new Speedy), a beautiful Batman pic from Mr Hester and a guarantee of an interview.... I'll be posting a thread to get your questions soon! (Post your questions here.) I also got my bag 'o minimates - I've got....like 30 of the things sitting here on my table and that's not counting all the singles that me and the kids picked up! ;D 7 or 8 Heroclix, piles of comics.... I guess it pays to have a family with lots of kids! excellent Jeff. I hope you gave Phil my best...I just couldn't wait in that damn line! Good job on scoring that interview man! Its nice to have someone else doin' the footwork! lol I'm bummed that I had to miss out on meeting Phil, though..he's a terribly talented guy!

BTW, I'm still reading thru all of my haul and I came across a book called Comic Festival. There's a nice 2 page story called Love As A Foreign Language - by Mr. J. Torres!
Is this an ongoing title, or was this a project for this oneshot only?

The store I went to was allowing you 3 comics. So I picked up Batman Strikes, Teen Titans and Star Wars. I did get the Batman but the store did not order any mini mates.

My store allowed 5 free books per person but only interested in /got Batman Strikes and Star Wars. Only managed to get 1 batclix (fortunately shop owner had 1or2 set aside and tossed me one) but no mates. Despite the somewhat awesome sale going on, only picked up hush3 chute bats and scarecrow for $10 each. due to time issues I couldnt make it to any other stores (had to be back home in time for workers who ended up calling and canceling anyway!!)

Yes, I'm finally back! My computer quit working, and was in the shop until now! Anyway, I bought Batman: War on Crime and Batman Chronicles, and as for free stuff, I hit 3 different stores, and the good things I got were The Batman Strikes and Star Wars. I also scored a HeroClix!

Well I completely forgot about free comic book day. Luckily my friend got extras of everything included the Batman heroclix.
