just got the listing of the titles coming out in May, and there is no cover pic for Batman # 640, but the preview is as follows:
"Superman guest-stars in Part 2 of “Family Reunion!” Batman travels to Metropolis to visit an old friend, known to the world as the Man of Steel! Meanwhile, the mysterious Red Hood joins Onyx in an attack on Gotham’s sadistic crime boss, the Black Mask!"
so it seems the Red Hood's identity will either be a complete shock, a let down, or remains unknown.
also the preview for Nightwing # 108 reveals that Nightwing is in New York.

::crosses fingers and toes praying that it ain't jason todd that's under the hood::
i don't think it will be. that'd be too... obvious, at this point. right?

[shadow=green,left,300]I think, while I wouldn't mind it being Jason, that is too obvious. I think its Anarky[/shadow]

...not to mention being a slap in the face to fans of logic and continuity. The best thing that came out of Jason's death was his status as a martyr. Take that away, and he was just an overconfident punk-turned-zombie supervillain.
Just because another unpopular Robin's suit wound up hanging in the 'fallen soldiers' category doesn't mean you can bring the old one back and make everything okay.
I hope it's not Anarky, though. I've only read a couple of his appearances, but I love the guy's politics. In Knightfall, when Scarecrow gases him, his greatest fear is politicians destroying the planet. You've gotta admire that : ) He just doesn't seem the type to go all badass supervillain on a guy.

Jason, IMO, has become much more than that original weak character. He's become an enormous presence in the conscience of Batman. He's been elevated to a status far beyond what he was ever worthy of. but regardless of that..you have to admit having jason come back sets up for some great plot points into the psyche of batman..it would really mess with him. as for Anarky....I think being comic book fans we forget the fact that ANYONE dressing up in costumes and preaching their dogma is kinda off their rocker to begin with.... ....he was only a teenager when he spouted his ideals..and he was NEVER opposed to killing. We have no idea what Red Hoods realy plans are in Gotham....or what his motives will be......and finding out Joker is your dad can mess with you a bit as well...I think it'd be interesting.
