People who know about Batman more than I: Has Batman ever fought zombies/the living dead? Like, Night of the Living Dead types? If so, where/when/what issues/titles. If so, that's something I'd like to check out. A Batman/Night of the Living Dead crossover could be pretty intense. Thanks in advance for any info.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head would be Grundy. Welcome to LOG by the way!! Same here... Welcome! Yeah, Grundy would be the only "Zombie" of the traditional sense that has reapeared in Batman tales. Though I'm sure there has to be some issues out there from the 70's or so? Seems right to me? Anyway, not sure how familiar you are with Bats comic history, but how bout vampires? hey walking dead is walking dead eh? If you arent familiar there have been numerous stories of Bats Vs. Vamps (some excellent some not so much). However; the idea of a Bats Vs. Zombies ala night of the living dead Could be entertaining. Would have to be an elseworlds of course, and if done well could work? Be an interesting angle to see Bats code against killing under such circumstances. In the meantime, you could always get your zombie, walking dead fix by watching Schumacher's Batman and Robin!? ;D LOL couldnt resist

a batman resident evil coss over would be great and it woudnt seem silly as resident evil is sorta based in fact that a virus can do this to people, maybe just rip resident evil off if the rights were to complicated and have batman seeing this plague spread and him having to do some detectiving to solve it and find out who did it, mabye have batgirl and that turn aswell and near the end batman being bitten and the mansion being run over by zombies and batman finds the cure in time or and this might be a kool ending since it would probably be an elseworlds book have batman lose and the hole city and himb being zombies and mabye have nightwing come in with marines and slaughter batman and robin and that or just leave it with him and the city being declared grave gotham.
also on a side note the batman ras a gul year 1, 2 parter coming out in i think june sounds like it involves zombies as ras a gul brings people back from the dead.

That got me thinking. Scarecrow could be involved with the virus. Then maybe Scarecrow could get infected by it too.

Other than Grundy, nothing immediately comes to mind.
However, the early '70s were a very goth period for ol' Bats and there was a lot of supernatural stuff going on back then. Check out the Grand Comics Database and scan the covers. Some of the stories have also popped up in anthologies.

Be an interesting angle to see Bats code against killing under such circumstances. I'm sure he'd be able to reason that 'zombies are already dead, do what must be done to protect the innocent' ... but sorta related to that, if they were 'magic' zombies, then the people who's death Batman feels responsible for, like the two Robins and his parents, could come back and he'd have to deal with issues about letting them 'die' a second time.
