tanbat14: Batman also thought of the Penguin somehow being involved in the plot... in the first draft of my outline. Initially, there were cameos by Penguin and Poison Ivy as Batman tried to figure out what Freeze was up to and make connections to what he was stealing. But because of other (as yet to occur) events in Gotham, they had to be omitted from the final draft. jedimario: Good luck with your exams! Looking forward to your review whenever you find the time to write it. marndt8448: Thanks for checking it out! Hooray for word of mouth! Or should that be word of... fingers? Wow, will you look at that? #191 comes out next week. Time flies! I thought Legends of the Darknight was out of continuity? Is this story a part of continuity? Time flies when u are reading a good story arc

LOTDK is in continuity now. "Cold Snap" takes place between "War Games" and "Under the Hood." And Freeze's appearances in other Bat books over the last year or so kind of lead up to "Cold Snap."

Ok. I just got done reading both issues. I liked how Freeze was shown as having given up. The Egyptian undercurrent - gathering all his prized possessions around him - was very nicely done. I wondered about it at the end of the first part and then to have it confirmed in the 2nd issue was nice.
Batman and Alfred's 'fireside chat' was a good touch. I don't think I've seen Bruce and Alfred talking about one of Batman's adventures in quite a while.
I'm curious to see Freeze again in the future. Could be a whole new direction for him - kind of a no holds barred, rising from the grave type of thing.

one of the best parts of 191 was the fireside framing sequence and how it dovetailed with the flashback. a common writing trick, but very well-handled here. if they were done like this, more bruce and alfred fireside chats would be mighty welcome.
also, the suicidal bit rang very true - wants to do it but can't. good work!

I was really quite impressed with the depth of these two issues J. Absolutely fantastic work. This is yet another fine example of DC under-utilizing some amazing talent! You should be writing Bat-Books monthly! I'd buy each and every one of 'em, if they're even half as well thought out as this two-parter! What a joy this has been to read.

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate you picking up the books and commenting about them here! Glad you liked what you read!
I'll hopefully have news to share about my next assignment for the Bat office soon...
