As we all know and wish to come sooner all star is starting very soon but i relised 1 big thing today, 1 reasion im wanting all star more now then ever is because so many of the classic villians have changed alot from poision ivy, Ra, scarecrow to two face and killer croc along with others.
now this got me thinking is DC in some way maknig all these big changes so that long term fans wish more and more to see the classic versions of these villains and to make there appearnce in all star more anticipated.
i know i cant wait to see classic villians back in action mostly from the changes made now, but dont get me wrong i love the changes but theres always a place in your hearts for the classic versions we all knw and love.
This is also why i believed that the what i guess dc classes as the old animated series did so well as every episode we were guarentted a good batman story with the villians we knew and that they wudnt change but that didnt make the storys anyless intesting. I hope all star follows the same route.

Great points, very logical and well thought out. I don't think All-Star is the *only* reaon they are making these dratic changes, but I'll bet that's part of it. You get an exalt from me.

That's an interesting theory but I don't think that's it. There are a lot of fans out there who tired of the continuity/crossover madness connected to the main books. We still enjoy Bats and the cast but aren't willing to commit to every turn.
If I understand it correctly, Marvel came up with the Ultimates as a way to restart the characters and draw in fans without confusing matters. Streamlining things and making them a separate continuity also gives the creative teams more freedom to take risks.
My take on it is that All-Star was designed to appeal to a wide audience -- especially with the Begins franchise kicking off this summer -- utilizing the big-big-time talent and allowing them the creative freedom to do what they want.
Maybe a byproduct is that the regular bat titles now are allowed greater freedom to tinker with characters because there are more diverse batavenues out there.
Anyway, it's an interesting thought.

yes i do agree that all star is made 2 compete with the ultimates line however DC have long stated that they arnt donig a marvel and re-creatnig there characters but using the defnitive classic versions we remember those characters by sure maybe with a costume change but still the classic versions. so in theory it is quite possible DC has done so many changes to make people want all star more.

A great theory...but I don't give DC credit for being that creative on a long term scale. I think the hype around all star is mostly the crew to be perfectly honest. Having Lee and Miller on the same book.....its a fanboys dream.

agreed that having them on the book is a dream but DC has to be thinknig about after there run tehre not always gonig 2 have a gd team working on it and they probably knw that they need the books identity in the long term run needs to be the classic versions.

Well, Marvel is putting out movies nonstop lately, and the Ultimate lines are doing well. I don't blame DC for trying to make a comeback.

seems more likely that all star is actually being set up as a go there for your classic versions book, alot of new invterivews have had DC say that because all star is there they can basically make any big change they want.
