It'd be nice for Mattel reps to let us know when this wave will finally be out. I've got two cases on pre-order that I'm ready to cancel.

The latest (unconfirmed) info is that the specialty store cases are being delayed until July, but the retail cases (with Cassie) have not been delayed as of yet. I hope it's wrong, comic shops are already getting screwed with 4 KS bats & no Cassie in a case, but now to have those cases delivered possibly well after the retail cases would leave comic shops stuck with too many KS Batmen that people would have already bought (probably cheaper) at Wal-Mart.

Even if they come out the stores won't put any up. I still see Scarecrow all over the place. My local TRU has just gotten 1 new Shadowtek figure in from the 2 wave. Mattel can kiss my butt with their poor butt distribution. Hey Mattel..If I don't see your product on the shelf..I lose interest and move onto something else. This year has been the absolute worst for Batman toys. If all Mattel can offer is repaints of characters(shadowtek)that are 3-4 years old or give us some hideous transforming car and plane..forget it! I would like to get some of the new DCSH but, if they are going to be hard to find as their other products i.e. JLU and Shadowtek..forget it. Hasbro gets my money.

By the way, I still have yet to see a Mongul in any of the stores here. This 1 per case crap has got to stop. Who actually enjoys this mess? Why does Mattel continue to do this, don't they hear all of the negative responses about this crap? I know Hasbro has but, they don't seem to care either. When the new DCSH come out, if I can't find all of the ones I want without camping out in front of the stores and in a relativly short time..I will wash my hands of Mattel for good. Nothing irritates me more than getting a new figure 3 months after it's release.

A BIG part of the problem is the retailers themselves. I understand your frustration, but it cant all be put onto Mattel. The ordering and stocking is up to the retailers, and as it has been said, their procedures for stocking new items is very poor.
I live in NE Ohio, and the Superman wave with Mongul is just NOW becoming abundant. I was at TRUs Sunday and found 2 cases worth on the pegs. There were at least 2 of every figure, including Mongul and Supergirl. I know the one guy who wroks there and made a comment to him about how they finally got them in. He told me, yet again, they have had the cases in the back but wouldnt put them out until the old Supes and leftover Scarecrows were gone. There are still 3 Scarecrows on the pegs!. Another problem with this whole issue is the internet. Collectors can easily click a button and get their new wave of figs instantly, which puts a stop to the retail buying. That slows down the shelf movement on new toys. Retailers know this, which is why they dont order as much as they did years ago. See, there is alot of factors that affect this hobby of ours, its not just one person or group.

Yea, I hear ya but, still..why the one per case? And why all repaints of old characters? Stores don't stock like they used to but, companies don't offer variety like they used to either. I have seen stores put up new cases and it's a million batmans and 1 or 2 of anybody else. So yea..I know retailers have a lot to do with but, Mattel could change the case assortments if they wanted.

To understand this you have to really grasp a large corporation. The element you're forgetting here is that you're referring to Mattel as though its one big company that makes fluid descisions. In all reality its a number of various competing sub-sects of toylines that have a limited budget and heavy constraints from their licensor. The people working on Batman do everything they can do get as much variety out within their budget. If they put out two Monguls per case..or 3 and they don't sell, the suits will have their necks and wonder why they didn't put out Supermans instead. Its more complex than just saying Mattel should do this or that. There are real people behind the scenes that are doing their best for us. As a person who was been here working with Mattel since day one let me assure you things are SO, SO , SO much better for us then they would have been without LOG and other fan forums. Your opinions and input have made a big difference. BIG things are coming from Mattel. BIG DC things. Mark these words...patience will pay off here friends.

Yea but, Mongul is selling. If all they are concerned about is the big names like Superman and Batman...then why make anyone else?

The hard thing is that you never know exactly what's going to sell or not. Last year Mattel was generous and release A LOT of Riddlers and Clayfaces for The Batman line so every fan can get one. They ended warming the pegs for the ongoing months. It's always going to be too many or too little, you never know if it's going to be enough. Concerning the repaints, in my opinion, things could be a lot worse. At least every figure for the DCSH line is unique, and the repaints make sense. it's better than having a million different Batmans and Supermans and one unique figure every wave. Mattel can't do everything for the fans and don't have control of everything. It's not their fault. If Target/Walmart/TRU want a bunch of Supermans than they'll put that on the pegs and one of everything else. Like /\/\att said a while ago that's what Toy Fair is for, for the retailers to choose what they want to put on the shelves.
just my two cents
