I've not read No Man's Land and I'd like to know what you Bataficianados thought of it before I take the plunge.
I know it's been around for awhile but, PLEASE -- NO SPOILERS!
Just tell me your general thoughts. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I've only ever gotten around to buying vol. 1, but from what I've read I'd give it 4 stars, it's excellent, and I'm sure the whole thing is that way.

It's one of the biggest Batman arcs in his long history! I know, it's just that I haven't been a monthly buyer in ages. I pretty much stick to TPBs now and I want to make sure it's worth it before I take the plunge. Keep those opinions coming!

its a gd series but the story does drag on at times and the ending is incredibly rushed. gd book though. Too True. Its a HUGE story and a pretty important event to the Bat-Universe. It should definatly be read atleast once. Ive read my set atleast 3 times through. That doesnt sound like alot but seeing thats it 5 volumes (6 if you count Cataclysm), it is. Personally Id give it 3 stars as its not the most exciting book Ive ever read but its still a big part of the current Bat-history.

Funnily enough my favourite is not the Comic but the novelised version by Greg Rucka. It's outstanding and creates a very detailed and expansive story.Well worth checking out if you get the chance.

I never read the No Man's Land comic version but I did read Greg Rucka's novel and I loved it! It's a great story and one of the turning points for Gotham City and all that live there! I would definately check it out!

Yeah,I agree with everyone else on the boards-the actual comics are not that great but the novel by Greg Rucka is quite good.If you're interested in the story, his novelization is the best way to go

I have both the novelization and TPBs. This is a great arch, it changed many things in Batman lore. Great story!!!

Same with me...The cost can be insane if you want to buy multiple books, so, I just stick with TPB's...That, and buy anything Batman-related that's 1/2-off from the "whatever" bin at a comic shop near my grandma's house...

I have both the novelization and TPBs. This is a great arch, it changed many things in Batman lore. Great story!!! I have two of the TPB's, and the novel. I've read the novel, and, until the price drops on the other TPB's, there's no real reason for me to validate in my mind purchasing a series of books that I've basically already read...

I just finished volume 1. I liked how they put in the Scarecrow in the role of Satan. He played off well against Father Christian. The Joker would have done a good job but in the edn I think he would have ended up killing everyone in the shelter with his laughing gas. I also liked how since Batman had been away for a while he now has to start from the beginning in establishing himself. I'm sure he will have no problem. And the Penguin with his Casablanca-like hideout. Everything has its price. I hope his role is reccuring in this arc. I start volume 2 today.

Just a warning...the trades only have SOME of the issues...not all of them. You actually have to collect for that...and it is A LOT of issues (I am like 20-30 away). There are over 150 I believe, and like 30 are in the trades, so....

No-Man's Land is top-notch. I havn't read all the issues cause the entire arc is the size of my collection. But i read the novel by Greg Rucka one of my fav writers. Since he wrote some of No-Man's Land it makes sense. But the thing about the TPBs that sucks
