After reading V for Vendetta i want to buy Watchmen TPB. I have been meaning to read it for years but just haven't done so. I would like to know what everybody else's opinion of Watchmen is. Is it worth the buy?

[shadow=red,left,300]I highly recommend Watchmen. It's been a few years since I read it (may just have to remedy that and find my TPB). [/shadow]

I agree with Bullock. To date, this remains one of my favorite stories of all time. Pure genius.

Hands down the second best comics story ever told(the first,of course, being The Dark Kight Returns).WATCHMEN is a great read and you may never look at superheros the same way again after reading it..its really the ONLY work of Moore's I really like other than some of his Superman stuff.

Is it worth the buy? YES...DEFINETLY WORTH THE MONEY...It's one of those rare books that changed the way I looked at super-heroes as a whole, DC or Marvel; the basic premise is that we shouldn't entrust our lives to a group of people who believe that by putting on a costume they're basically above the law...Which raises the question featured in the work, "Who Watches the Watchmen?", basically meaning, if we have policemen to watch over the general populace, who do we have to watch over the super heroes? A great read, with plenty of hidden gems/ "Easter eggs", like a sign for a local theater showing "This Island Earth" during a sci-fi block...
